Ideas for carry cases for masks when traveling?

Post by vrgsph » Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:19 pm

I am buying a smaller CPAP machine just for traveling -- this part is solved.

What I have always had problems with is carrying/transporting my masks. I am always worried they will get broken. I end up overpacking/padding.

What do you guys use to transport your masks? Has anyone researched a carry case for masks?

Thanks in advance.

I use a small box, a little smaller than a shoe box, for my nasal and full face mask, hose, extension cord and the multi outlet surge protector. This fits in my backpack with a book and I carry it and the cpap with me. Never had anything break in my travels. The CPAP is worthless to me if I carry it on only and pack the masks/hose in the checked luggage that sometimes decides to travel to destinations other than where I am going.

Dear Sir/Madam,

When we were assessing your luggage, it looked tired and stressed, so we sent it on vacation to Jamacia for a week or two. We have provided this helpful service at no charge, you can thank us later.

The Pelican 1450 works good for the ResMed Elite, humidifier, 6'hose, power cord, 15' ext. cord, mask and 16 ozs distilled water.

Best regards,

Fred

I use two of these types of containers: http://www.sterilite.com/Category.html? ... tegory=43#, one for the mask and one for the hose. In my carryon, these fit nicely in one section with my CPAP nestled in between them.

I just use the carrying case that came with the CPAP machine. I put the masks (2), hose, and cables/power pack in individual ziplock bags. I've never had a problem with breakage.

As an alternative to the manufacturer provided carrying bag, a padded laptop bag may be good. I have a laptop backpack that could make a great CPAP bag.

CPAPs are ALWAYS carried on, never checked.
