Anyone else told they do weird things in their sleep?

Post by Flying_Norseman » Thu Jan 03, 2008 2:31 pm

For example: Last night my Fiance said I tore off my mask and was feeling frantically around trying to find something. I apparently woke her up with my searching. She asked me what I was looking for and I promptly said, "nasal spray!" and then put my mask back on and went right back to sleep. She couldn't get back to sleep for over an hour so I heard about it this morning.

Then there was the time when I got up in a huff and threw open the bedroom door, walked into the hallway in my underwear and yelled, "What the hell is going on out here!?"

I used to sleep walk a lot when I was a kid. Anyone else do some weird stuff when they are sleeping?

You just wanted to work the word "fiancee" into your conversation, didn't you?

Heck, I'm sure we've all done worse things in our sleep.

Tell her to be grateful you're not hitting her while she sleeps, like my Dad does to my Mom.

LOL,
B.

My son used to sleep walk even as a teen ager.

One night we had went to bed and I was awakened by dripping water and thought in my sleep induced mind that our roof had sprung a leak. When I become more fully awake I became aware that my son was standing by the head of the bed and was urinating all over my clock radio!!! The water I thought was dripping was actually some of the "spray" I was catching from it hitting the clock radio!! I yelled and he woke up and asked me what I was doing in the bathroom with him!!! When he fully woke up was he embarrassed!!

He is now thirty-one (will be 32 end of this month) and we still have not let him live that one down.

Before hubby was diagnosed with apnea he used to talk in his sleep all the time. My favorite was when he turned to me in his sleep and said "Prepare to be boarded." Now what do you think that means???

Ouch. That's a piss-poor way to be woken up...

You think that's bad, she didn't say when, what if it was in the last few years? Jim

He was in his mid teens when this happened so you can imagine his embarrassment.

After all mommas are not suppose to know what teens boys have in their "pocket".

I went to the Dr b/c my sleep walking/running was out of control and THEN found I had sleep apnea! Since I got my machine I don't sleep walk much but I take my mask off a lot and sometimes jump up next to the bed. I used to RUN from my bedroom, sit up and search the covers for my kids thinking I had suffocated them in the bed, I would wake up yanking the covers off of the bed (hubby didn't like that one much!) and I apparently took out a new half gallon of ice cream and then went back to bed. BIG mess in the morning! I was so sore and tired b/c I was doing these things 3-4x a night most nights last spring. I wonder now if it's because I couldn't breath b/c like I said it mostly stopped when I started therapy. I also talk in my sleep...as does my daughter.
So, yes. I'm weird too!
