Bra strap stop leaks on comfort curve.

Post by th » Mon Jun 06, 2005 2:23 pm

I found the best thing to stop leaks with the comfortcurve. Bra straps. I had to cut up a half of a dozen of my wife's bras to get it to work but it did. It seems the double hook bra works the best but your bras may be different. The nice thing about this is you can accessorize your mask with different straps. I personally like red while my wife is more conservative with white, any way it is a fun option and you don't have to spend the money with Respironics on their Bridge variety pack.

The Variety Pack includes Sky (the standard light blue), Bronze (light yellow), Burgundy (light red), Sage (light green), and Platinum (light gray).

Aren't bras expensive? If I chopped up my wife's bras to make straps for my mask I think she'd kill me!!

I'd have to sew 2 or 3 together. My wife is small. Or is it my head is big? Wait, those aren't bras They're jockstraps.

Oh gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen.... Clearly what we have here is a very thinly veiled attempt to minimize the obvious magnitude of the life-altering 'Pantyliner Thins' discovery (made by a woman, of course) with your meager dalliance in comic relief through presentation of a use for women's brassieres to solve yet another CPAP problem. Well, it simply won't work.

Face it, CareS is the Madame Curie of the CPAP World!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOMEN HOSEHEADS UNITE!!! IF WE HAVE TO, WE CAN DO ANYTHING! WE ARE STRONG! WE ARE INVINCIBLE! WE ARE WOMANNNNNNNNNNN!

Whoa. Got a little carried away there... I better go breathe into a paper bag or something...

Bra Straps

Post by CareS » Mon Jun 06, 2005 4:24 pm

After this post I am almost afraid that someone will post " Use a condom to fix hose leaks...! Please explain in more detail how the bra straps work. I would be very interested to hear this. You didn't have to cut up your wife"s bra's as you can buy straps in a fabric store or a department store. The straps on a 2 hook, 3 hook, 4 hook or 15 hook bra are exactly the same. If you need more bra straps I have a whole box full of them as I took a course once on making bras so I know what I am talking about. Unfortunately mine are either white or beige, no colours..CareS

new ways to enhance your "curves" --pantiliners and bra straps

This would be the first mask I chose.

I've already done the teflon thing at the elbows; fortunately the silicone cheek pads don't bother me, but they come off too easily and make great cat toys.

Everything is a great cat toy!

But I spend enough time wearing bras in the day, I'm not putting one on at night, thankyouverymuch

Bra STRAPS??? or bra BANDS?

And wouldn't it be safer / wiser / cheaper to just go buy some elastic from a fabric store? If you need the hooks, they sell them too.

If you're into colors, either buy the colored stuff or get some Rit dye and knock yourself out!

Bra Straps

Post by 2listless » Mon Jun 06, 2005 9:17 pm

Alright, I have almost recovered from the pantyliners and I have to read the thread about bra straps. This is too much to handle. First off, bra straps do not have hooks, the band does. So are you using the hooks and the bra band or are you using the straps? Now bra straps can open up an entirely new discussion because you have your basic bra strap, your halter bra strap, your padded bra strap and your gel insert bra strap and let us not forget the ever important strapless bra! Does the cup size make a difference in your repair? Or are you finding other uses for the cups? Exactly what are you doing? At $40 a pop for a great bra, this is a pretty expensive repair. If you are just using the stretch band part with the hook and eyes, why not just buy bra extenders? It is amazing how little men know about bras since they spend most of their lives trying to extract women from them!!

What do you do with the old Bras. Frame them ? Cut um up and put them to use !

Hey it really works! But I used a slightly different method. Have your wife/girlfriend/significant other (assuming he/she has significant cleavage) wear the bra. Place the cpap hose within the cleavage, insert your nasal passages between the "nasal pillows", pull in a crisscross pattern on the straps and viola, no leaks. Don't blame me for this post, I didn't start it!

Gang, I haven't stopped laughing since spotting the other topic title: Pantyliner Thins solve Comfort Curve Problem!!

That fix jumped CareS straight to the top in lab rat history books as the most creative, gutsy, "I don't care what anyone thinks ... #$%&, it WORKS!" lab rat of all. So cool.

And here we have th, bra mutilator extraordinaire, (sleeping in his car now and for the foreseeable future) stepping up to the plate, tongue wedged firmly in his cheek -- and not by frequenseeker's DYI mouthguard leak stopper.

I'm with neversleeps on this: Guys (and Respironics, too) fergit it. Nothing you try to do will ever out-lab-rat CareS's stunning accomplishment.

2listless, I'm left behind in the dust (sorry, allergy sufferers) when it comes to lab-ratting from here on. Incidentally, what with even a Guest finding ways to refine the arcane art of leakproof mask burrowing, I just don't know what to expect next!

tomjax, I know you're out there somewhere, laughing, too. Can you imagine how fast CareS's fabulous fix would have been shoved off into Dreamland on the "sleepwhatchamacallit" board?

snorky, (I know you're reading, too!!) looks like you're off the hook now... so to speak.

If laughter is the best medicine, don't you think we should be cured of sleep apnea now?

...and then we'll have to look for another board?
