How I solved my aerophagia

Post by CarrieS » Thu Dec 20, 2007 8:51 am

Well as many of you know I wa struggling quite a bit since I started using a chin strap or full face mask. I even had a BiLevel but that was the worst experience for me ever. I have my Vantage APAP back and I have the minimum down to 6, any lower made me feel like I was suffocating and tinkered with it to find the lowerst number I could use comfortably. The aerophagia in now gone. Thought Id post in case anyone else is stuggling.

Yes, I could solve aerophagia too by lowering the pressure or just turning the machine off...but it would make for longer and more apneas

CarrieS, glad to hear that you have your aerophagia under control...I too had problems with swallowing air do to GERD, but now have it under control and now that I have a Bipap auto with Biflex, have my Aerophagia under control. Once in a while, if I spend too much time on my side, it starts to act up, but other than that it is now under control, now that I have the Bipap auto with Biflex.

Dan
