Found a new leak in my ComfortCurve

Post by There » Sat Jun 04, 2005 8:27 am

Just thought I would share. For weeks now I've blamed my face shape and the angle of the exhalation ports for the fact I always felt a bit of air on my upper lip when sleeping with the CC. Well, the other night, I decided to try something when replacing the SaranWrap gaskets in the elbows - I put a piece of Saran Wrap at the bottom of the nasal cushion before snapping it back onto the tube.

Guess what stopped?

Great idea, bad execution, Respironics. Pity, too, because there are so many things about the mask I DO like. *sigh*

I had the same problem and it was not the elbow issue. I called Respironic and the woman told me that you can squeeze the cushion before placing it back on and it may attach better or tighter and not make any squeeking noise around that fit. I tried it and it worked.

JK:

How exactly do you squeeze it? Top to bottom, side to side? Curious to see if this works for me.

I notice that it does that at times, all you have to do is pinch the seal down to the tube, it seems to stop it for me...
