which way do I insert the encore smartcard reader in Bipap

BiPAP® Auto M Series with Bi-Flex..in car wreck..bipap fell they brought me a new one when I was sleeping forgot card in old one mailed to me and told me on phone but due to concussion I can't remember which way I put the card..don;t want to call him again..

does the gold thing go towards the humidifier or on the side by the settings
