Matt Roloff has sleep apnea on Little People Big World

Post by Tn_Hosehead » Mon Dec 10, 2007 10:55 pm

Didn't know if any caught the show tonight,. It showed him going through a sleep study and being fitted for a mask.

It was neat to get some more exposure about apnea and the use of a cpap machine.

They usually rerun episodes on Saturday night.,

Missed it, but saw the trailer when he was all covered in sensors and went BINGO! He's having a sleep study!

Sure wish he'd join this forum. I've really enjoyed him and his family for the past few years on TV.

Cheers,
Babs

Couldn't resist. Sent him an email. He'll probably ignore me, but what the heck. Told him we'd be very interested in him joining us, and hope he'll put a positive spin on his cpap experience for the public, same way he's educating the world about Little People.

MYOB. HA!

LOL,

Wow, Randy...thanks so much for the post. I usually watch that show but missed it this time. Will definitely try to catch a re-run.

He was also told he has diabetes, so will probably be spending some time dealing with that (I hope not at the expense of his apnea!).

I love the show. Never miss it. I was so excited when I saw Matt go for his study (whats wrong with me) I feel any exposure that sleep apnea gets scores one for the good guys!

Sure the season I stop watching the show something exciting like this happens. We watch tlc fairly frequently so I don't know how i missed the teasers for this episode. I'll have to try to catch the rerun. I did see a preveiw of next season that said Matt was charged with "suspician of driving under the influence." Could be maybe he was falling asleep at the wheel and not adapting well to cpap. Maybe he really does need us.

My husband's daughter, grandchildren and one of our great grandsons are achondroplasiacs so we really don't need to watch the show. Although our daughter does and recommends it highly.

Our grandson Alan had his tonsils and adenoids taken out when he was three. Apparently they were huge and had been obstructing his breathing. After the surgery he didn't breathe as noisily as he had in the past. I now wonder if he had apnea.

What 'cha wanna bet that he has major problems adjusting to the CPAP?? Anything else just wouldn't be good for attracting tv audiences!!

Kajun (ever cynical, 'specially this time of year. Bah, humbug!)

I was on the forum as usual when my husband called me in the livingroom to watch Matt's sleep study, wow it was interesting to me as I had my sleep study done at home! They said sleep apnea is very common in little people. They said something was going on with his heart as well and I think high chlosterol ? Did anyone notice the amount of MUSTARD, MAYO, and RELISH he added to his can of TUNA WOW, that was alot... I LOVE that program, and he looks just like my brother-in-law It would be awesome for Matt to join our forum but as you can see by his show, he is a very busy man ( like 4 projects going on at once, etc. ) . They are great people and i'm very happy that they have their own TV program for us, "THANK YOU ROLOFF FAMILY" and thank's to " Tn_Hosehead" for posting, and to Babette GREAT GOING to invite "MATT" to the forum, if he does check it out, he will be AMAZED at what he will learn !
