I Found a Bargin on a CPAP

Post by Got2Sleep2Night » Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:06 am

I was just on another company's site and when I went from one page back to their home page I noticed that they had lowered there price on the Goodknight 420 to $199. I was only looking for a part for my mask but at that price I had to buy an extra machine just in case.

At this price you might as well take advantage of it. This is better than SlickDeals.

The site is http://www.sleeprestfully.com

Not my cup of tea. Especially since they have false advertising about ResMed warranties on their site. And, another negative is that they seem to have some of their people trying to post on this forum to drum up business. Poor taste in my opinion.

Also, if I WERE in the market for a 420G, I'd ask CPAP.COM for a "price match".

Resmed Warranty

Post by Positive Air » Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:35 am

Wulfman you are giving people on this board misinformation. If you doubt that Resmed will not honor the warranty on products purchased on line from a non Resmed Preferred Internet Provider you need to call Resmed at (800) 424-0737 and ask for Ben Cheah, Sales Operations Manager. He will flat out tell you, an I quote, "ResMed does not honor its standard warranties for any product sold in an un-authorized fashion."

We had this discussion here awhile back.....but....

Show me where on this page it says what you claim!

http://www.resmed.com/en-us/patients/re ... nu=dealers

It says nothing about not honoring a warranty.
If I purchased a ResMed product, that 2-year warranty should be "good" for that 2-year period. AND, I think it SHOULD be honored by ANY DME (B&M or Internet seller). I keep hearing stories that if you purchase a machine from one DME, that a different DME will not have anything to do with getting repairs done for the owner. That would be like saying that if you purchased a GM vehicle in one part of the country and broke down in another part, the local GM dealer wouldn't even look at it.

I'm SO glad I purchased my equipment from CPAP.COM!!!!!!!!
I would hate to think about having to deal with local B&M shops.

ResMed's Internet Policies

ResMed internet policies are designed to support patient care
ResMed internet policies are designed to encourage and support patient care now and into the future. Our market research indicates that the number one factor driving patient compliance is HME service. This service comes at a cost to HME providers, whether they sell products online or through a storefront. Approved ResMed Preferred Internet Providers are committed to providing high-quality care with the goal of improving patient outcomes by selling authentic, unadulterated ResMed products and by providing professional service for therapy usage and ongoing compliance. All products purchased from a ResMed Preferred Internet Provider come with the manufacturer's standard warranty.

If ResMed products are not purchased online through a Preferred Internet Provider, ResMed cannot ensure that products are delivered safely to patients with accurate instructions regarding use or that products are not tampered with, mislabeled or misbranded.

ResMed’s internet policy is just one example of how we are committed to supporting patient care and the value of HME services

So you're confirming that "ResMed does NOT honor" the warranties when bought from that sight...

Wow... If you're going to try to drum up business, at least you're honest.

Wulf...you just might want to do some checking as to just who is an authorized Resmed preferred internet provider?

Personally, I don't care WHO is authorized to sell ResMed machines.....I wouldn't own one if they were free.

That whole thing in '06 was about protecting the brick & mortar DMEs.....in other words, "MONEY" (profits).

Any company who buys from the Resmed Corp would be a authorized Resmed provider, Internet or Brick & Tar Paper.

But most would be able to advertize on their own and wouldn't be using modified spam on others bandwith. Someone like that would Never get any business from me or my friends. Jim

Don't say things like that, we all have doors that need to be propped open on a spring day, so we can take advantage of a nice breeze. Jim

As long as they are free and not plugged in.

There are a few forum members who DO know.

But, categorically, it's NOT:

CPAP.COM (or any of their subsidiaries)
ResMed, Respironics, Puritan Bennett or any other manufacturer of flow generators
Any brick & mortar DME
Any insurance company
Any entity connected with the healthcare industry

Does that narrow it down for you just a bit?
