I LOVE my DME

Post by differentdave » Thu Dec 06, 2007 11:29 am

Continued Care of LOng Island ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I did second round of sleep study they sent me home with the mask I used (respironics comfortget nasal in small) Long story my nose and forehead have gotten some pressure marks which have now turned into a irritation/slight rash type of thingie. So I switched to my full face mask but that’s not as Comfortable so I take it off during the night. I called my DME and they scheduled an appointment for me for today.
I just left with 1. Two medium gel inserts for my existing nasal mask as it accommodates both small and medium (who new)
2, A new nasal mask which had a lower profile and different pressure points, they recommended switching between two or three to avoid get same marks in same areas day after day.
3. They read my card, they also offered me the service of dropping by whenever i want to get card read, to crunch data and to make suggestions in regards to leaks, etc.

I can not tell you how nice the entire staff, how professionally they are or how well there customer service skills are. They are greatwith follow up, listening to my questions and concerns. They sponsor a local A.W.A.K.E. meeting, etc. They are truly such a great asset to me as well as my ent Dr Cornetta. I truly believe for the greatest success a combination of doctor, dme and patient working together is needed.
I will continue to sing the praise of my DME as I have found that most dme’s can be a little shady at best and downright unethical, lying pieces of s&*$ at worse.

Sorry cpap, I will say you guys also rock between your prices, your support, this forum, the cpapauction site, etc.

Congrats Dave! This is what all DMEs should do.

Just continue to patronize them going forward!

Ah, Dave. It is so good to read of a good local DME supplier given how many our members have encountered some real sheisters!! I'm all for singing the praises of the good ones!! Thanks for sharing.

Yes, someday most of the DMEs will learn that decent service and a decent discount will equal continued patronage from happy customers. I wish I could say that, but sadly no. Luckily I have cpap.com to fall back on.

Thank You,

Dave is not the only one. My DME calls me monthly, checks on my progress, asks me if I have any needs and answers questions thoroughly. Once, when I had a problem with my mask, the RT came to my work and brought me another seal for my mask.

Now if I could just get my cable provider to do as well for customer service (or as a famous consumer columnist from Atlanta says,"CUSTOMER NO SERVICE").
