Pillows

I agree with Rock and Roll about how good the "real" Tempur-Pedic pillows are. When I first started using one, it felt too firm and too low. I used to put a thin regular foam pillow on top of the Tempur-Pedic pillow. That stack was perfect for me, giving me softness on top and the raised edge of the firmer Tempur-Pedic pillow underneath, so that my mask could easily hang over the edge without hitting mattress or pillow.

Gradually I began to reverse the stack, with Tempur on top and came to love the way I couldn't feel mask headgear pressing anywhere in that pillow.

A few months ago, I finally anted-up and bought a real Tempur-Pedic bed. Adjustable, no less! Heaven!! The Tempur-Pedic mattress and pillow are absolutely wonderful to sleep on. With the head of the bed raised just a little, I no longer need a "stack" of two pillows to keep me from feeling like my head/shoulders are going downhill toward the head of a flat bed. Even though they weren't really going downhill, I'd always felt that way on any other bed, thus two pillows.

I had used a memory foam mattress topper, and while that was nice, it was nothing compared to a whole Tempur-Pedic mattress.

Expensive, yeah, but if I'm going to spend a third of my life sleeping, that kind of comfort is well worth it to me.
At age 60, I don't expect I'll ever have to buy another bed.

Don't bet on it being your last mattress. My wife's grandmother is 92 and she just bought new bedroom furniture, including a mattress.

I just sent a PM to someone here and thought maybe I should also post it on the open forum:::::

It seems that the more posts I read here, and the more I use my "shapeable" pillow, the more I like it. It's almost like using memory foam pellets in a weightless environment? The pillow conforms to the shape of my face and mask (without suffocating me!! :LOL:), without dislodging the mask, completely cradling my head and neck with no pressure points. I feel like I'm floating. Yet if I change my position, the pillow changes with me.

I am a very restless sleeper (restless leg syndrome, CO2 alpha wave intrusions, muscle and joint pain, cats on the bed (one of them has taken to sleeping on the coil of hose at the top of the bed! :LOL:), etc.) and this pillow remains supportive and soft throughout the night... although it DOES need to be fluffed before each use.

Thanks Ahujudybear, I just got the shapeable pillow yesterday, actually I got 2, 1 for dh. Weird thing is they were both in the same bin, both in same packaging, but one (mine of course) is perfect. fits just right, shapes just right for every position ( I was trying it out with my new Aura today...)
but the other is too puffy, does not shape at all. That is dh's, poor him. lol

Aww, poor dh!!!

I just bought the last 3 standard shapeable pillows at one of the Target stores here.

I should mention that they come in 2 sizes: standard/jumbo and Euro (the Euro is a square pillow).

So, just so you know, the Target store on South 27th Street is sold out!

And about the "other" one, maybe check the tag attached to the pillow to be sure it's the same as yours? Someone might have slipped up or switched it with a cheaper pillow.

For Rock and Roll and other knowledgeable folks:

Overstock.com sells what says it is a VE pillow for a discounted $20. I've seen very steep discounts on quality products there, but obviously some could be trash. Any thoughts?
