I live in Ontario, and am concerned about your message which is attached to the pricing topic.
The Ontario government, through its assisted devices program, will pay a max of $780 (which is also the min due to cost of equipment) if you buy from an Ontario supplier. You lose this if you buy outside. And there are no competitive online suppliers in Ontario that I know of. If your workplace insurance will pay 90 percent of the remainder, you should consider yourself lucky. And you will not be putting your benefits provider through hoops by inventing new ways of doing things.
And yes, the Flexifit 407 mask that can be bought for $55 from cpap.com costs four times that through my local supplier. Other masks like the Activa and Swift 2 come in at slightly more than double. And it is clear my local supplier is tied in with Resmed, and does not offer Respironics.
My suggestion - start off local, and then start buying the other stuff over the internet, from the states. Like a second machine and masks, but make sure you are prepared to pay the full shot if your insurer disagrees.
