SOMNOPLUS MASK- THE STORY OF A GAL GETTING SOME SLEEP!

Post by dieselgal » Sun Nov 25, 2007 2:26 pm

To start with I had really wanted to try the Soyala but none of the DME's here carry them or deal with the manufacturer. Can you believe that? They said to order it there would be no return even if the size was wrong.
SO.....
One day Jules from this board said he/she (not sure of the gender) used the SomnoPlus and they really liked it. Since it was much cheaper to try than the Soyala I decided to purchase it myself from CPAP.com and try it.
The Result:
I really LIKE it! I used the size chart that the Somnotech people mailed me to decide which size and ordered the small. It fits me better than any other mask I have tried to date. I had been wearing the F&P 406 Petite and that was a touch to short but still wide at the bridge and the 407 regular was a little to long and wide at the bridge so if it wasn't seated perfectly it would leak in my eyes.
The somnoplus SMALL fits me perfectly. It is just the right length from bridge to upper lip and the actual bridge area is more narrow and fits the shape of my nose better. It came with 4 forehead pieces that are slightly different to make that adjustible but the first one I put on was perfect so I didn't try the others. The headgear seems to be a little smaller than the other masks I have so it fits my little pea size head better, AND last but not least, this is a VERY QUIET MASK!!! It is much quieter than my other masks and the exhaust flow doesn't blast me or my husband.

DID I MENTION THAT CPAP.COM SHIPPED SUPER FAST.
I paid for it one day with paypal and it literally arrived the next day!

That definitely looks like headgear on a budget, but hey....if it's working for you that's all that counts right?

It works well for me - easy on / off. I don't have to clip it, don't have to adjust it, just put it on and put the bands in place. And of course the price was right.

I am glad you like the mask. I like the venting by the hose myself for this mask. The Soyala vents into my forehead. The noise levels are about the same as long as you don't have the middle of the Soyala leaking. That happens to me often.

If in the future you do get the Soyala nasal mask the cushions are the same.

I appreciate you pointing me towards it. If I continue to like it this much I will definitely reorder it.
