Better late than never, AEIOmed has re-agreed to our postponed interview!

If you have questions about AEIOmeds new battery powered CPAP, the battery itself, or any issues therein - post them to this thread and I'll pass them along!

I will be passing on your questions, my questions, my fathers questions and phone support questions on Friday afternoon. This means the cut off date for questions is FRIDAY, 1 PM CST.

We are excited to announce a Call For Questions in preparation for our upcoming interview with AEIOmed. They are touting a small, lightweight, travel oriented, battery powered wake up call to the CPAP Industry and we would like you to have the first crack at post your questions about:

The AEIOmed Aura CPAP is due out at the end of the month or early next month.

Its Integrated Battery Pack is due out by the middle of June.

Its Integrated Heated Humidifier is due out by the middle of July.

Is there a power cord that will work on a plane that will attach to the passenger seat-like how you plug in a dvd or computer?

What type of masks are compatible--nasal, full face, prongs, pillows, etc, and are there any pressure problems with masks other than nasal masks?

How do you recharge the battery?

How much water does the humidifier hold? How much is this in comparison to other heated humidifiers like the Remstar Heated Humidifer?

These are pictures of the Aura and the auto charging battery plate it slides onto. We've made them big so you can see how they plug in, etc. Enjoy!

No pictures of the humidifier yet? Those will answer a lot of questions.

Looks like the final design is simplified from the original prototype used for the pictures on the website. I was hoping it had a flip-up handle on top. Pictures of the original design suggested it might.

What is the battery made of (NiCad, NimH, Lithium, Seal Lead)?

Can the unit be used on 110 istead of battery?

If so, will the battery recharge while 110 is in use?

Does the unit have to be purchased privately since most users will already have a CPAP on their insurance?

If not has reimbursement been arranged with insurance carriers?

Projected Cost of the unit?

Will the travel bag accommodate the CPAP machine with all its components - i.e. humidifier, hose, battery pack, cords plus mask?

What will the total weight and size of the bag be when fully packed?

How silent is the machine and how long is its guarantee?

It looks like everyone else has covered my questions, including the Aura's CPAP being compatible with masks from different companies plus airline approval.

Is there a built-in power converter that allows the unit to be operated and the battery to be recharged directly from 220 V AC sources, such as are found in many countries outside the U.S.?

Can the CPAP unit be connected to and operated from an external 12 V source (e.g., a 12 V automobile or marine battery), and can the battery unit be recharged from it?

How rugged is the unit? Is it built solidly enough to remain functional under normal backpacking-type conditions?
