Sleeping on your side to lower AHI?

The left side is best for controlling GERD. Check anatomy of the stomach and how it connects to esophagus to see why - there are some web sites showing graphics of the connection.

To force myself to sleep on my side, I sometimes use a small fanny pack with a couple of tennis balls in it. Of course I rotate it so that it is in the small of my back. This works better than the backpack I tried.

Thanks Rooster...that confirms my experience. I sometimes get nauseous on my right side if I have eaten less than 3 hours before going to bed.

The fanny pack idea sounds like a good one, too.

The backpack I use is a very small, very cheapo one. I got it from the Audubon Society when I joined. I wouldn't want anything bigger.
