RESMED ESCAPE S8 - HELP SOMEBODY!!!!

Post by tbrown1 » Sun Sep 30, 2007 9:26 am

a few days ago my machine started making this wierd sound. a very low beeping - the sound a big truck makes when it is backing up - there has to be a way to turn this off. I know these machines have all kinds of secret buttons/codes to reset stuff. CAN ANYONE HELP ME??

Do you know WHY it's beeping???

If not, you need to determine the reason it's beeping before you attempt to shut off the warning.

Have you looked at the LED screen to see what it says when your Escape is beeping?

It "might" be something as simple as a Mask Alert Warning that you either have a large leak or to wake you up to the fact that you've taken your mask off.

But it could also indicate a problem w/the Escape itself. You need to look at that screen whilst it is beeping to see what message is there.

You wouldn't want to take it in to your DME, have them turn it on w/o the mask on your face, have it beep a Mask Alert Warning and have the DME say that is the problem and send you home when in reality there was some other reason w/in the Escape itself that was the cause of the beeping you are encountering.

If it is beeping with that CPAP message on the screen its time to take it in to your local DME supplier. If not satisfaction then call or e-mail Resmed directly. Your local DME supplier "should" provide you w/a loaner xPAP whilst checking your Escape out. BUT they "may" well likely charge you a rental fee. They shouldn't but ....

Are u sure ur escape is not signalling that u have a mask leak? Remeber there is an alarm indicator that sounds as you described.

In the clinical menu you have the possibility to turn it off. U can access it pressing right & top arrow (at the same time) for 5 seconds
