Hey, busy week for me, haven't checked in much.

Jen, the bite guard does not hurt my gums. It seems to push my teeth together, like it's too narrow. It's a pressure thing. I really dislike the feeling. I bought a boil and bite at Walgreens, but GUESS WHAT??? It's been a week now, and I haven't fiddled with it.

Went to a class today at the local bead store, learned a whole new thing do with beads, bought $68 worth of supplies, then went to JoAnn's and bought another $40 worth of supplies, and came home and flopped on the couch and watched a DVD. Very typical weekend for me.

I still haven't made lotion. Anyone here surprised? Oh, and I haven't made the chinstrap, or bedjacket yet, either.

And the feng shui project is still scattered all over the floor, instead of hung neatly in the various assigned zones.

My order from Chagrin Valley came in, and I tossed it on a chair and I keep wondering what the interesting smell is in the living room, then I look over to that chair and remember... But do I put the soap away? Noooo....

Oh, and the armoire is stained, waxed, and still sitting in the living room. Too tired to re-arrange the bedroom.

So, welcome to the wonderful world of LAZY BARBARA!!! I have reverted to pre-cpap exhaustion. Got the nose under control, now I just have to control the arm pain that keeps me up all night.

On the upside, Dad the MD (vs. StepDad the Disabled) yesterday recommended I take two Ibuprofen three times a day for 10 days and see if that doesn't help the arm pain. The idea of anti-inflammatory meds makes sense to me. I've been doing that for two days now, and I actually slept pretty good last night. Still hurting, but not as bad. Hoping to have this thing under control be the time I see the therapist on Oct. 2. I don't want her to pressure me to have surgery...

BTW, when's Harry's surgery, Jen? Isn't it soon? Was it this last week?

My acne is slowly healing. I decided the "gentle peel" product was maybe too much right now. The first time I did it, I recovered okay, but last Sunday when I did it, my face was irritated for a few days afterwards. So, I'm just using the Nature's Gate morning and night, and no wash cloth, and no peels or dermabrasion or masks.

Two funny things - my coworker has come down with folliculitis all over her face and bosom. Her doc says it's stress related. Me and another coworker, who have watched this woman stir the pot endlessly in our office for 4 years have decided THERE IS A GOD.

Second funny thing - my doc, who is Ms. Natural, has perfect skin, and only uses water to clean her face and never wears makeup, has started breaking out. I offered to give her samples of my Nature's Gate stuff. Maybe I should sample her on the Murad, too. She has NEVER done anything like this - a cleansing routine I mean. It's a complete mystery to her. She wants to exfoliate, but doesn't know that word. She mentioned sandpaper. I kept telling her DON"T RUB! Revenge for years of "Don't pick!"

Her theory is that post-menopausal women DO have hormonal cycles. I rolled my eyes at her and said "DUH!" She's so innocent sometimes...

So, feel good about yourselves. I'm living in chaos. If I die, I will make headlines when they try to excavate me from the mess.

Cheers,
B.

OMG! I did the same thing this weekend! I went to the fabric store to get elastic....and came home with patterns and fleece, and flanal and a crapload of other stuff. I threw the bag on the floor next to the desk.....havent even opened it yet.

Now I know why my house is such a mess.

I got a flat tire today on the freeway.....wanna guess how scary that is in an SUV? It was a back tire. Felt like the stearing just went completely soft on me. It was NOT something I ever want to have happen again.

I still havent made lotion either. I am so lazy.

I have been looking at houses across the country. I am finding houses for like 10 thousand in indiana....they are forclosures, same in ohio. You can get a forcloser here for about 150 thousand.

Jen might end up with a new neighbor. If I could get a house with my tax return I would have 0 left to pay on it. I could stop working and go back to school, live off the 1500 in child support for a few years. I am seriously considering it.

Any recomendations for a muscle soak or rub?

Hmmmm.... I can only say DON'T buy the capsicum creams. It's not just that they BURN, but you can't get the stuff OFF, and it re-activates in the shower for DAYS.

Hot tub, lots of Ibuprofen, and plenty of flopping on the couch watching TV. That's my answer to just about anything, though...

If you can buy a house with your tax return, I'm clearly in the wrong business.

LOL,
B.

I second that statement! A house for $10,000? Seriously? I know you posted they were forclosures, and I've never looked into forclosures. I'm just in awe of a home for that price. I think my parent's paid $15,000 for their first home over 60 years ago.

Besides just having the money to purchase one of these, is there a waiting list to obtain one? Would they have been vacant for a long time and in need of repair?

I do plan to sell mine in two years, but I don't plan to leave the area just yet. I have a really good job and will probably retire with them, then consider moving out of the area into someplace more affordable. I'm just very curious about how this works.

I've never gotten 10,000 back on my tax return in my life!

I am expecting about 6 thousand on my tax return, but I should be able to swing the rest of it pretty easily. I was actually finding some of these on ebay strangly enough. I also have a friend in ohio that has been looking into things for me. Some of the houses are in need of some repairs....but some are pretty minor, and I am willing to do a few repairs. Im pretty handy.

My ear still hurts. They switched antibiotics....but still no help.

Funny, I bought beads recently, too! I'm crazy busy, so to take a break I bought beads, mostly a few pendants and put them on those thin leather straps.

My theory about this is that now that I'm not so sleep deprived, I have more energy to do this stuff. Like, the curly girl look. It's still working pretty well. I used to just drag myself around, too sleep deprived to care about how I looked.

I look better because I'm not so sleep deprived, but also because I have more brain left over to look at myself in the mirror and figure out what to do to look better.

I'm trying to figure out how to get out of California BEFORE I retire!!! I really don't want to be in the California tax system with my measly retirement -- bloodsuckers!!!

My dad retired 20 years ago and has said if he knew then what he knows now, he'd have had IBM transfer him out of state before retirement so he wouldn't have been subject to Cal. Tax laws.....

Something to consider!!!!!!

cheers

my dermatologist says it is probably from perspiration building up under them. I've read that it is extremely hard to get rid of the condition once it's started

What you see on your face from Rosacea is all a symptom. The true culprit is your blood vessels and heat. The blood vessels very slowly over time get more and more sensitive to any trigger that can cause them to dilate. This causes you to turn red and feel hot. Eventually the skin gets damaged from getting hot so many times. There are various things that help, but if you have Rosacea you should always do as much as possible to minimize heat to the side of your face, even if your Rosacea isn't bad yet. That will help keep the damage down and delay or prevent it from progressing to a more severe stage. That is one of the reasons I like the ComfortLite2 mask. It has no straps on the side of my face or chin at all. I also don't heat my bedroom and use a down comforter so my face is cool but the rest of me is cozy.

Well, just so you all know, the Queen of Natural is Abdicating. I got a scrip for Tetracyline yesterday for my acne. You would too if you looked like I do. I should post a pic of what I REALLY look like, sans makeup. My early avatar I had makeup on.

Hey, I didn't ask for it. The doc recommended it, and I knuckled under. The only time my skin has ever been 100% clear was when I was on tetracylcine. I quit taking it during a period of unemployment and never went back on.

Bought a splint for my arm pain, and the first night I slept with it, I slept weird and gave myself a headache all day. Did better last night. The IB is building up to "therapeutic levels" in my blood and that's helping. Still some pain, but not as bad as before.

Jen's in Disneyland without me. Sniff!

JM, I have buddies in Ohio, too. I'd recommend that area. Particularly if you're interested in history and dressing up funny. Let me know if you develop that interest and I'll put you in touch with them.

Nearly 100% set to go to Alabama in early November and play dress up at an 18thC French fort and make a pilgrimage to the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Rosa Parks Museum. I'm a history geek, I confess.

Cheers,
B.

Hey Babs -- Better living through Chemistry.......

Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. As much a Mr. Natural as I am (being an old hippie), I bend to the chemists where I need to (with High BP, Diabetes, etc. it's quite a bit these days, but........... )

In the 80's both of my kids (step) were on massive doses of Tetracycline for most of their teen years and it really worked for them. I'm not thrilled about the antibiotic trip, but again, ya gotta do what ya gotta do (these are kids that considered yogurt as desert!!! ).

Anyway -- don't get down on yourself for a minor compromise!!! Keep natural in other areas of life!!!!!!!
Hey, we still love ya!!!!

cheers

you mean yogurt isn't a desert?

I was put on minocycline for my teenage acne and have been on that for a few years now. The worst part is, I have a daughter that is no longer a teenager. I sure hope I grow out of my teen-age acne soon!

(but then again, it might be my own fault since I refuse to grow up! )

DUDE! That Avatar ROCKS!!!!!

Guitarded... I LOVE IT! Somewhere in heaven, my late husband is laughing is butt off right now...

Yeah, well, I'm no spring chicken either. I'm 42, fat, OSA, and Acne. No wonder I consider a hot Saturday night take out Teriyaki and the CPAPTALK live chat.

Thanks Goose! You know, if I ever ate a VEGETABLE, as my doctor pointed out, I might not have acne. But who knows... It's not that I don't LIKE vegetables, I just can't seem to remember to eat them before they die a gruesome death in my fridge...

Mabe I should start considering yogurt a dessert, instead of eating Pumpkin Pie three times a day and claiming it's a vegetable?

LOL,
B.

Pumpkin pie isn't a vegetable????

Those kids ate veggies until they came out their ears (weird kids, I know, but being partially raised by "hippies"......well, ya know!!! ). They still had serious issues with acne until the doc put them on the Tetracycline. (from mother and father -- I'm one of those blessed with good skin - I've had like 2 zits in my life - and believe me, I appreciate those genes!!!!!)

By the by, daughter has continued the healthy regimen with the grand kids!!!

cheers

Yeah, when I came across it on the net I had to cabage it.

Guitars are like potato chips, you can't have just one, and you always want just one more...

I am at 7 and holding... I am proud to say that it's been 10 months since my last one was bought (a new les paul studio). I did try and buy a new MIA strat a few months ago(figured I'd giver Fender a shot at some of my money this time), but couldn't find one that told me to take it home. (A sad day indeed)

(unfortunetly I have found the same goes with CPAP accessories... so much to try, so little time and money)

Ha -- I'm that way with Bass guitars.....But my count is only 5 which includes a McCartney style violin (too light for my style....I tend to pound a bass)....
Had to go to "GA" to stop buying them!!!!

No job, no money, so not buying CPAP parts or guitars is ok for now......
