Lies and Power

Moveon.org c 1944

Unlikely to find on NYT or CNN or the MSM.

(picture of General Eisenhower)

GENERAL EISENHOWER OR GENERAL LIES AND POWER

COOKING THE BOOKS FOR THE WHITE HOUSE

General Eisenhower is a man constantly at war with the facts.
He believes that Nazi Germany is a direct threat to then United States. It was Japan that attacked us, not Nazi Germany.

Most importantly, General Eisenhower will not admit what everyone knows: America is in an unwinnable war on two fronts that are thousands of miles away. Even if America could win, we could have to keep thousands of troops in Europe for decades.

General Eisenhower has become General Lies and Power for not retreating and sending our troops home.

Paid for by the 'Twas the time to move on political society

Tomjax: We're not likely to find this anywhere, except in your Bill O'Reilly infected mind. What are you running through that mask of yours - nitrous oxide?

I'm Sleep deprived. I only just noticed your sig line about your Avatar, Rooster. So that pic is 20 years old or more? Okay, that makes more sense to me. I had a hard time believing you were YOUNGER than me.

Your sense of humour is clearly colored by an exciting life. No way you could be just a spring chicken.

Thanks for the original Rooster, and your's was great too, JA, and I LOVE the dictionary!!!!!

Cheers,
Babette - usually a Diehard Democrat, but so traumatized by the Clinton Years I may just have to start voting for one of the 17 or so "fringe" candidates at the bottom of the ballot...

Bill Clinton's sexual morals, or lack of them, disgusted me - but - I gotta tell ya, Hillary is looking better and better ... *sigh* .... her previous health care ideas scare me but ... it seems like all the possibly good candidates are too intelligent to BE a candidate and prefer to stay in the private sector.

Who in their right mind would WANT to step in and try to clean up the mess Bush Baby and his cronies have deliberately put this country in???

That little girl sleeping on my chest is now 17, so you figure it.

I was quoted in a national magazine article a few years ago and they wanted a photo. I sent them a portrait that was about 15 years old.

My dishonesty is justified by all the pleasure my friends received from harassing me about using that photo. .

Bill's sexual morals didn't bother me. His stupidity in letting this country get dragged through endless *&!@#$ hearings bugged the crap out of me. And Hillary's endless dodging over Whitewater annoyed the crap out of me. I'm so done with her. I don't know WHY I hate her, I can't be specific, but she bugs me. My mom was HORRIFIED that I said this at a recent gathering of her Diehard Democratic Ladies who Lunch. I don't care. I've always been a rebel. She burned her bra - I'm burning Hillary.

Seriously, I'm thinking of voting for Thompson simply because I've never heard anything LAME or EVIL about him, and he just seems DIGNIFIED and NICE. Frankly, some class in the White House would make me happy. It's a freakin' figurehead for gosh sakes. Though, if you take a historical perspective it's always ended up being a lightening rod...

I think Fannie Lou Hamer said it best: I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. That sums up my feelings about presidential elections.

Not to mention CPAP. Though I suspect my recent bout of tiredness is directly related to the spate of presidential posturing.

Cheers,
B.

Its too bad we didn't follow England's example about the length of their elections!! What is it? 3 months start to finish? Sure beats 3 years and 10 months of campaigning to put up with!!

Isn't that the truth! By the time election time comes around I can't stand any of them because of the mud slinging and lies. They really get on my last nerve.

It's just too bad we don't have anything to protect us from all the crooks in the current government who are presided over by a complete imbecile. As for Clinton's crimes - what's worse - boffing an intern or misleading the country into a quagmire that has caused over 3000 of our children to die. I'm not saying we shouldn't fight terrorism - we're just fighting it in the wrong place. Meanwhile, the terrorists are gaining strength in Pakistan during our little "diversion".

Reminds me of the three auto workers in the bar, each of them bragging about their dog being the smartest. One man worked for Chrysler, one for Ford and one for GM. ....

As far as people pointing fingers at any particular administration (including the recent ones), you might want to do some further research in the history of this country. There were suppliers overcharging the government in the Civil War (and before) and every other form of corruption that's coming to light in the recent administrations. There's nothing particularly "new" going on.....it's the Same Old Sh*t. They're just getting more devious about how they're obtaining OUR money to do it.
Yep.....more Devious Money Extractors.

Vote them ALL out! (too many have been there too long)

Yeah......they're gonna vote for their OWN term limits, etc.?

Something like that would have to be done by a national initiative.....almost impossible to get on all state ballots, I would imagine.

But, I agree.

It can be done...

Get it done on a state referendum, one state at a time. eventually there will be enough that pass it that it would get passed on a national level.

It would also be interesting to see the effects of this. Say 2 limits in the house, and 2 in the senate. Would lead to the house becoming a training grounds so that we might actually get better leaders out of this.

Then again, when they get out they would probably become lobbyists...
