Stuffy Nose and Nasal Pillows/Prongs Masks

Hey, so we pillows/prongs users all keep a spare FF, for those congested times. Well, last night, not really thinking about it, since I'm SO USED TO MY STUFFED UP NOSE, I go to bed, put on the mask, and realize I'm not breathing out of my nose.

I was far too indolent to go get the FF out of the closet. Doing what I normally do when only one nostril is plugged, I put my finger on one nostril, held it closed, and HUUUUFFFFFED in with the other nostril. While wearing my NAII and with air flowing. A little clearer. I did the other side, a little clearer. Gurgly, but not gagging me with snot. I kept breathing deep, and relaxed and picked up my book.

By the time I was ready to close it and sleep, I was COMPLETELY CLEAR, without even noticing it. In the immortal words of Borat: Very nice!

So, next time you think you're too stuffed up for your nasal pillows, try this. Might be you can clear it without too much trauma. I think the air pressure just blew it all clear. And apparently it wasn't too much mucus, because I wasn't hocking up loogies on the floor beside the bed.

Who in there right minds eat's okra? be forced to eat slimy boiled okra and you wouldn't eat it either

That cracked me up. I wouldn't eat okra either...especially since I've heard it basically turns into fake mucous.

Umm yay? That's good but the visual and auditory sensations it's causing is still kinda gross LOL!!

FYI I have used the pillow approach in some pretty wicked congestion conditions. It seems that the major part of the flow restriction is swollen membranes and the increased pressure pushes them out to their more normal usable dimentions. The reverse of getting a stuffy feeling after removing the mask in the morning.

I must be weird. (That's a set-up if ever there was one...) My nose breathes less clear while under siege than when I take off the mask. My first few breaths in the morning are really sweet. So far though, in six months, I haven't been too stuffy to need my mouth for air intake. Thanks for the food-to-loogey comparison, I'm glad oysters and okra aren't midwest staples!

Awright, ya'll ain't gonna get NONE of my chicken, sausage and OKRA gumbo, then! Or any of my seafood gumbo, either, since I make it wif shrimps, crab meat and OYSTERS!

DId I say one thing about oysters?? No I did not. So the okra you can keep but BRING ON THE SEAFOOD!!

I can't think of anything worse than oysters and okra in a fiery gumbo. Oy vay!!!!!!!!!!! Ya'll can eat my share!!!!
