I agree. It added very pleasing and helpful dimension to the therapy.

I hope you like it and that it proves to help in getting even better sleep.

I did try it and used Clear. I love the peppermint and lemon aspects of it. Well I can say it definitely works I could smell it quite clearly, and I slept like a rock until about 2:30 in the morning. So I think it is helping....and will get better as time goes on.

But I have no problem getting used to having those smells. When I first opened the bag it was in I could smell all 3 of them together ...I may end up doing a mix because that smelled heavenly.

So basically so far so good.

lilsheba,

Great!!! Yes, mixing the aromas is really nice too. I'm now to the point of reusing the same diffuser pad and just switch the fragrance I add to it each night... two dabs of whichever one I choose. It is so... encouraging of peaceful sleep.

I hope it proves to be very rewarding and indispensible for your therapy.

lilsheba, glad to hear you're liking this stuff!

You're not alone--someone just posted this on cpap.com today that I thought you might appreciate about mixing oils:
Worth every penny! I chose the deluxe starter pack because I wanted to be able to try all the different oils and I'm glad I did because some of my favorites aren't in the basic pack. One thing I have noticed... don't judge an oil by how it smells in the bottle. Some of them seemed so incredibly strong when I opened the bottle that I put off trying them. But when I finally got around to trying them anyway I was glad I did. They are much subtler when filtered through the machine and humidifier. In fact... my favorite scent (creme) is almost too subtle. It smells incredible at full strength but quickly fades to almost imperceptible by the time it gets to my nose.

If you've been debating over these oils... TRY THEM. It makes that gagging damp plastic smell all but disappear.

And no--none of these are paid advertisements (even though they seem that way).

As a lawyer I relate all too well to the idea that if something sounds too good to be true, it is. I wouldn't believe it myself it I hadn't experienced it. I am extremely pleased to know that this stuff is working for others as well as it has worked for me during the last 18 months.

SG,

My body receives payment. It now gets increased quality of sleep and more of it routinely.

I probably rank on the upper end of the of OSA damage scale due to having been a misdiagnosed and untreated SDB victim for many decades. Then I was an improperly prescribed-for SDB sufferer for years. Achieving good sleep routinely without medications is something I never thought possible.

Switching to APAP and a Hybrid FF mask, in June and July respectively, surely helped me. But my sleep was still interrupted many times a night by waking periods. Episodes of pulling the mask off in my sleep were still almost a nightly occurrence, and often multiple times each night.

What Pur-Sleep added to my therapy was another dimension, one of peace, comfort and encouragement of restful sleep. My mask-off episodes are currently diminished by over 95%. The number of continuous hours of restful sleep I get each night vastly improved.

I may never have perfect sleep, but now the severity of OSA hangover that I suffered daily for decades has been measurably lessened each day.

I am not healed, still have considerable pain, some headaches, head-fog and other symptoms… but most are diminished enough that I don’t wake daily teary-eyed with very blurry vision, a drunk-like staggering gait and a head that begs for decapitation. I don’t nod multiple times during each day without warning, or almost every time I sit quietly for a few minutes.

The value of Pur-Sleep to me is beyond its modest cost. It is as important in my therapy as are the machine, hose, mask and proper pressure settings.

Banking any of this quality sleep isn't possible, but my body is certainly enjoying the nightly payments nonetheless.

Bret, thank you.

Nodzy, thanks for the detailed report. I am very pleased that you've been able to make such improvements in your therapy!

My personal view on "Sleep Debt" is that it's somewhat of a misnomer. Sleep cycles are generally on a 24 hour basis and there's not really an effective way to "make up" for lost sleep from days, weeks, or months before.

That said, I think that the collateral damage the body suffers from OSA--all of the changes, accommodations, etc. that take place in order to cope with chronic sleep and oxygen deprivation, can take weeks and months to reverse. I don't see that as "making up" sleep as much as the body's natural healing process.

I am enjoying it....my favorite out of the three scents I have right now is clear. Peace is ok and spice is my least favorite. I may still experiment with the mixing of them though. But definitely clear is awesome. I slept hard all night last night so I do believe it's helping

I take credit as being the lazy fool who admitted I quit swapping pads and just use the same pad every night, piling scents up on top of each other. I'm mixing Peace and Clear, Peace and Comfort, and straight Spice.

Decided Ylang Ylang was a Y-not Y-not, and traded Paradise for some more Spice with another forum member.

I've been using the same pad now for weeks. Maybe I should wash it. (shrugs)

BTW.... Not to detract from Bret and Pur-Sleep at all, but I've also found a new fave - Mellow Mix by Aura Cacia - primarily Lavender and Sandalwood, with some citrus, neroli, and other notes. Slept very well with it for several nights, then took it to work and am now using it in a plug-in diffuser ball. Trying to Diffuse some of the Angry Parent Energy in my office.

I'm burning a Puraira lamp right now with Pur-Amber. I don't SMELL anything, it's just nice in here and doesn't stink of the Mexican lunch and the BBQ dinner.

LOL,
B.

Hey Sheba, let me check my stash....

I think the only one I'm not currently using is Fresh. I like it, I just never reach for it. It's very citrus-y.

BTW, I'm a big fan of Clear II. I didn't like Clear I. I was one of those for whom peppermint is too stimulating. I love the new Clear II!

Cheers,
Barbara

Clear II I don't find that on the Pur-Sleep site. What is it?

I have been using it for the past week or so and I have found the scents to be pleasant. I don't feel any particular physical effect from them.
