Respironics BiPAP auto error c1 after card removal

Post by gecko1977a » Wed Aug 29, 2007 6:42 am

OK, I have had this machine for over a year, and today removed my card to read it and had a heck of a time getting it back into the machine.

every time i inserted it into the machine it would beep continiously and flas C 1 on the screen. After i think about 70 in and outs it finally stopped beeping.

Should i be looking for a new card?
is this the machine?

I have had issues before with the card reader not being able to read the card after inserted into reader.

Oh BTW: for any of you who remember me and my struggles with loosing my job last year. I just made Senior Customer Care rep at my new job. I will be there a year come Oct 16

Gecko

My guess is a new card will solve the problem.

But, as a test, put the card into your PC reader & go through the format & set-up steps then see if it can be read ok.

I have about 5 cards for Remstars & Bipaps but one of the cards causes problems - it works in some machines but not all.

Reformatting it fixed it for a while.

Good luck

PS I believe C1 (IIRC) is a general cant read the card error.
xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)

i went into encore and erased the card and then did setup. put it back in the machine and the beep continued, finally got it to stop.

a new card was on order last night.

I was having issues with just doing what i did in encore, so i suspect the card.

Did you try cleaning the gold area on the card with rubbing alchol and a pencil eraser?

I have only used the reader once. And it corrupted the data card. The solution was to format/erase it. That worked.

OK, I got the new card, do i need to format it and then do setup?
will the programming of my settings stay in the machine and then sync over to the card? or will i need to load the settings onto the new card?

Just put the card in the machine and you should be "good to go".

The machine CAN be reprogrammed FROM the card, but since this is a brand new, blank card, all it'll do is write the machine number and model to it.
