Got a letter yesterday from DME saying my Resmed Elite S8 has been recalled. Any body know what;s that about?

URGENT: MEDICAL DEVICE RECALL
ResMed Corp has announced a voluntary recall of certain S8 flow generator devices to address a potential short circuit in the power supply connector in S8 flow generator devices manufactured between July 2004 and May 15, 2006.
Affected Serial Numbers and S8 Models:
The affected devices must match both a serial number in the range below and be one of the following specific S8 models: S8 Escape (part no. 33007), S8 Elite (part no. 33021), S8 Compact (part no. 33030), and S8 AutoSet Vantage (part no. 33112). No other ResMed Models are included in this program.

You may continue to use your S8 flow generator in advance of receipt of a replacement device. To begin the replacement process, we ask that you:
1 - - - If you did not purchase your S8 flow generator from The CPAP Store LLC, call Stericycle, Inc. at 888-899-8991, Option 2 or email ResMed@stericycle.com
2 - - - If you purchased your S8 flow generator from The CPAP Store LLC, contact us to verify that the serial number on your device is part of the replacement program. Phone toll free 877-272-7626 or by land line 509-735-1842.
3 - - - Once we have verified that your device is eligible for replacement, we will ship your replacement machine free of charge. We will set the pressure in accordance with your prescription in our files. Instructions for retuning your old machine will be sent to you with the new machine.
Warning:
As with any electrical device, please continue to ensure that your S8 device is placed on a hard clean surface and that the area around the device is clear. The following precautions may further reduce risk in advance of receiving your replacement device:
* - - - Do not use supplemental oxygen with an affected device, until a replacement S8 deice has been provided. If you currently use supplemental oxygen, please immediately contact us for a replacement S8 device.
* - - - Discontinue use of the device if there are any signs of electrical failure such as: intermittent power, cracking sounds, sparking or charred smell. If this does occur, please immediately call us to return the unit and receive a replacement S8 device.
