Lost data, Encore Pro

Post by 6PtStar » Thu Aug 30, 2007 8:46 am

I know I have read threads about lost days with the Respronics "M" machines. Mine has been working well for about two months and all of a sudden I find myself in the same boat (sinking). Yesterday I got no data so I thought OK lost day. Well today I got no data either, two days straight. You folks that have experanced this, does it come back on its own, should I erase the card and start over? Best I can tell it shows the hour slept, and the data seems to be figured in the averages. What shoud I do other call it bad names, ther are some 4 letter words that come to mind.

I download the data last sunday, all days from 19th till 24 are available, except 18th august, lost one day data. I just download data today, no data missing. Not sure what's happening, perhaps bug in APAP ?

For me, it's usually two consecutive days of no data, then everything is fine for about 3 weeks, then another 2 consecutive days of no data. Usually.

My hunch is that the fault lies not with the software, card reader or smart card, but with the machine (or perhaps the card writer module that is integrated into the machine): I think the machine sporadically fails to write data to the smart card.

Has anyone who uses a non-M-series Respironics machine (e.g. the "tank") with Encore Pro ever had this problem?

(fyi, in case it matters, the version of Encore Pro I use is 1.8.49, otherwise known as 1.8i version 1)

I'm running 1.8i.49 also, this was one of the things that 1.8 was suposed to fix over 1.6, I guess not. This was running in my "M" Pro not the Auto but I suspect you are right it is in the machine programming. I won"t do anything til tomorrow, maybe I will get data again.

The only way 1.8i could fix it is if it came with a "Classic". Software can't fix a machine problem. Jim

It won't make the HH tank bigger either.

It usually comes back on its own but erasing the card seems to always fix it.

Dialogue from the movie "Patton" (apparently he recognized good sleep, too)

Patton aide: What are you doing there, soldier?
Soldier getting up from floor: Trying to get some sleep, sir.
Patton: Well, get back down there, son. You're the only son-of-a-bitch in this headquarters who knows what he's trying to do.

I had something similar happen recently. But if I use Jame's super EP Analyzer I can see the missing days. What gives?

Does the "M"agic have Data Apnea, or is it just Data Impaired, I'm not sure what the politically correct term is. Jim

Yippie, It went back to working this morning. I guess it's one of those "M" things.

OK I will add myself to the list of "missing data". Does this data reappear with encore 1.8? Is it possible that as the card gets full, the machine has trouble writing data to the card? If so I will begin erasing data on downloads. I haven't erased the card yet and am almost 1 month into my therapy.
