Holy cow. 8 hours of sleep for the first time in YEARS

Post by jqp » Fri Aug 24, 2007 11:29 am

I just finished my first week on CPAP.

I actually overslept this morning. I'm ususally up an hour or more before I need to be.

I haven't slept 8 hours in longer than I can remember.

This is cool!

Congratulations. It's nice, isn't it? Hope it continues.

Good Luck

It took me a month or longer to get my eight hours at one time. It is very refreshing and a worthwhile accomplishment. Some nights just do not go off right and I can't seem to get anything to work or feel right. Other nights anything I put on works like a charm. Is it the attitude that makes the difference? All other things seem to remain the same. Keep on keeping on.....jim

The biggest problem I have is that I'm a side sleeper. My regular pillow makes my face mask skew and leak sometimes.

I've seen some fancy pillows with cutouts for CPAPs. I'd like one of those, but paying $80 for a pillow rubs me the wrong way. I wish insurance would pay for that.

some folks have taken a knife to a solid foam pillow... to cut their own hollowed out spots... then again some of us use shapable pillows as well.

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered one of the CPAP pillows for $59.

This sleeping all night stuff is COOL. I want to make the most of it.

People at work always made fun of me because I answered all my emails at 4:30 in the morning. I hope that has come to an end.

I slept until, ...gulp, 8:30am this morning.

I don't remember the last time the sun was up before me.

I woke up slighty confused and wondering what day it was and if I had taken an afternoon nap or something.

This is awesome! I've already mowed the grass, been to Home Depot, and done some carpentry work on a bathroom I'm remodeling, and I still have energy.

Thanks for the support!

That's great news!

Hopefully, your energy will just keep increasing . . .

And your sleep will continue to be refreshing.

Welcome back to the land of the living!

ps That initial "energy rush" does usually tail off a bit. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Congrats!

"It's a MIRACLE!" isn't too strong a phrase, is it?
