Server Upgrade Scheduled

Post by forumadmin » Wed Aug 08, 2007 2:56 pm

Howdy CPAPtalkers,

We have outgrown our previous servers and are in the process of upgrading to faster ones. For CPAPtalk, this process will occur over the next two days. The end result will be faster load times for all pages. If you spot pages acting differently than they used to, please feel free to post a "I found a problem" reply to this thread.

Unfortunately, this port will solve load issues but not bugs relating to the phpBB software that we run the forum with. The bug issue, specifically the "on again, off again" login, will be addressed by a larger upgrade scheduled for the end of this year.

New messages are not showing up with "unread" flags, starting from about 8 hours or so ago.

Cheers,

Bill

problem

Post by guest at the moment » Thu Aug 09, 2007 4:16 am

Hi
I can't seem to log in after several tries, and starting over with cpaptalk.

Then it won't let me send you a message because my user name is already taken.

I can't get into anyones profile. I use this to look for posts by a particular member when I want to quote something, or post a link to the thread. I get a debug error every time.

Odd... I tried many times to login and could not. Finally, I did something I never do.... I selected the box to "Log Me On Automatically Each Visit"... and I got logged in. The login problem is oddly resolved... at least for now.

That was the first thing I tried. Didn't work. Tried unchecking it. NADA. Tried creating new account. Still won't log me in.

Well, at least I can post as a Guest! )))

I also was not able to log in... then I cleared the history of my browser (cookies, etc) and then I could.

Login seems to work one time and not the next. Logged in earlier without a problem, this time had to check the log in automatically box.
