Opinions Solicitated - Getting Greedy????
Ok -- Am I getting greedy???
My AHI is down to 3.7 at a pressure of 10.....the AI and HI numbers are inching down slowly.....
Do I leave it alone for now?? Or do I monkey with it -- trying to lower it even further??
Let me say that my inclination is to leave well enough alone for now and keep an eye on the reports.....but there's this little nagging gremlin in me that can't leave things well enough alone.....
*<sigh>*
cheers

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?

I bet'cha you've already tweaked it just a leeeeetle already...since writing this post.
Nothing wrong with continuing to work with it. Until you get it where you want it, or the new wears off. Whichever comes first.

goose,
It all depends on what your nightly reports are showing.
You didn't give any timeframes on how long you've been at it on this machine and that pressure, but for me, it took a couple of months for mine to settle down a bit (also at a pressure of 10 cm.). Initially, my AHI kind of bounced around, but it eventually got down there. My stubbornness to move my pressure came from being PO'd at my sleep doctor who prescribed a pressure of 18 cm.......I figured I could "guess" better than he did. I actually had lower AHI at 10, but after about ten months, I started experimenting with 11 and 12......finally settled on 12 because a little extra pressure dropped the snoring to almost nothing.
YMMV,
Den

Dear Guest,
If you're feel the need to read along, and out loud with what you see on the computer screen, then pronounce it any way you wish. But be warned, in the community center where you probably use the free computer service, all of the homeless people are going to freak out when they see you talking to the computer. Then you'll see a neat display of attitude.
FYI, it's not a second capital letter, it's a zero.

Actually Laura I resisted and left it alone. I'm extremely happy that I've been able to get where it is now.
Naw -- newness wore off a month ago.....I'm just a tweaker....... I just have to resist the urge. I know 3.7 is a decent number. I really should let things settle......
Wulf - Not enough time for sure. I went from 5 to 7 then to APAP at 8-15. The auto function was causing a lot of NR's and based on some analysis by SWS I came to the opinion that I may be one of those that doesn't tolerate the changes in pressure the way the APAP does it, so I went back to CPAP mode. I set it at 10 (where I originally had thought my pressure should be based on my first sleep test -- how they came up with 5, I can see in the titration report, but cannot believe the numbers....oh well....). Anyway -- I've been on 10 for about 10 days or so and I'm going to leave it alone to see what happens. Thanks for your input -- appreciate it!!!!
Thanks all --
cheers

Tweaking for Better Numbers
I've had this thought more than once. No matter which mask I try, I end up with an AHI average of 3.9 and a current average pressure of 8. When I see some post they get an AHI below 1, I'm inspired to tweak this and that. I also see on my reports that the last two hours of sleep are where most of my events occur. Why? I think it's when my nose is getting stuffy after being on air all night. But maybe it's . . .
So, I intend on trying to get my numbers as low as possible. When it becomes more bothersome than needing higher quality sleep, I'll stop
