Did cutting off the chin support on a Hybrid help?

Post by John_M » Sat Jul 28, 2007 4:22 pm

Mike Moran reported that cutting off the chin support on a Hybrid helped it fit his face.

I am contemplating doing this. But before I do this I would like to see if this mask surgery helped others as well.

So, if you cut off the chin support on a Hybrid, what happened ?

Thanks

John,

The first three nights I used the mask without alterations. The mask was very hot and the chin flap was causing bad irritation under my chin.

With the chin flap removed the mask feels relatively cool and of course there is no irritation under my chin.

Is the mask easier to fit without the chin flap? I would guess it is since there is one less dimension to deal with.

Don't cut the flap off yet. I wasn't as smart as someone else on the forum who figured out you can fold the flap back and tape it to the shell for trials. If you sleep like this for a few nights and it works well, then you can cut the flap off.

Good luck and please keep us updated on your progress.

BTW, I have a SMALL HYBRID MOUTHPIECE WITH THE CHIN FLAP CUT OUT. If you'd like to try this before you cut your own mask, PM me.

ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No pillows. No Mask. No Headgear. Just a mouth cushion.

Cheers,
B.

It depends on what the problem is. is your face very long and you need to pull the mask up higher?

Try cutting a size you dont normally wear first.
