I received the $25 upgrade kit from cpapplus and it did in fact include everything you need to upgrade to swift II. The only things not replaced are the headgear and the side tube that connects to the tubing from the machine.

Others sell the cap, clip and pillow sleeve for $25. The trouble is that some of these kits contain no exhalation vent. This is a necessary component for a safe and proper upgrade. Our kit makes a Swift into a Swift II. The $25 swift kit does not.
I thought the new kit had holes in the frame piece. If so, then to get the full benefits of Swift II, you would need the $89 kit. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Believe me, I want the $25 kit but I want full benefit of the new Swift II so I want to be sure.

Folks, go to cpap.com and look up Swift II ad, go to bottom and there is a picture that enlarges and shows all the differences between I and II.

Johnny, thanks for posting. So many prices on cpap.com seem so great, but $90 for this kit is a real bummer. Almost better to pay $150 and get the whole deal for that matter ... how long does it take to wear out the headgear? Maybe an extra won't be so bad.

... would have to get $11 of something to get that free shipping!

On a Swift II, the vent holes are in the bottom "frame clip" that holds the pillow sleeve moulding together.

I have both an original Swift and a Swift II mask, both of which were bought brand new. The only differences that I can see between them are covered by the parts that are in that $25 kit referred to above... and I will be buying one of those kits soon!

Cheers,

Bill

The images on the CPAP.com site do not match the original Swift or Swift II masks I have, both of which came from North America.

Both my Swift masks do not have a frame bar across the bottom between the parts that attach to the headgear. The pillow sleeve wraps around the parts that attach to the headgear and the pillow sleeve is held together by the frame clip. The frame clip provides the structural integrity to the pillow sleeve.... that is the pillow sleeve and the frame clip together are the only parts which join the parts that attach to the headgear.

On the Swift I the frame clip is solid (no holes) and my Swift II the frame clip has vent holes.

I've left a message for Resmed, asking them what is going on here

Cheers,

Bill

This is all very strange. I'm eager to update my swift for a quieter version, but would like to know the details before making a purchase. I have an email into the website that sells the upgrade kit for $25 to ask if the frame and frame clip are both included in their kit. It didn't make sense to me that they wouldn't--until the above post, which I find to be super-confusing!

The $25 kit does come with the new frame so it can properly vent. I will post a pic of it tomorrow.

Thanks Refugee. I'm ordering today. I love the swift, but it is a bit noisy.

I had purchased my 2nd Swift shortly before the Swift II was released. I contacted the manufacturer and was sent 3 pieces (not sure if this is what is in the upgrade kit). It was a new medium pillow which they asked me which I preferred, a new clip and a new frame bar which attaches to my original headgear. The new pillow does not have vents as the old one. The new clip is open in the middle. And the frame bar has the vents. There are many more holes and they are smaller. The new pillow fits over and under the frame into groves and when the clip is attached it is held in place with the middle part cut out so the vents are not covered. The direction of the air flow is different from the old set up. The Swift II is much quieter and the exhaust flow is much more minimal than the old. I have been using the Swift II for a few months and am completely satisfied. I have had a number of other masks and always come back to Old Faithful.

I've gone from an AHI of 100+ to an AHI .05 or less pretty much consistently, and my trusty Swift played a big part of that. The new one is great!

Not sure if this picture is any help.

This is a copy of an email I got from the $25 supplier:
Hello Jennifier,

The Swift II contains the cap, clip the correct size pillows and the frame. If you have any questions please let me know.

Subject: Swift II conversion kit

I have a question about the swift II conversion kit. Does it contain the cap, clip, frame and pillow. I want to make sure this is a full conversion from swift 1 to 2-I understand the exhalation ports are in a different place on swift II and want to make sure to get that part. Your price is quite good, so I will strongly consider purchase.

I'm ordering it today. I am a very loyal cpap.com customer, but I am a stay at home mom and don't have the extra $65.

I received my $25 upgrade kit today, and it contained all four parts. The only difference I can see is that the end cap is clear, not blue. But then, who cares about that.

Thanks for the info. I ordered the upgrade kit today, since either way it will work for me. I just want to have the spare parts around since the Swift is my most reliable mask. Having extras of my equipment makes me feel secure
