The Official CPAP Song

Post by SailorBoy » Mon Apr 25, 2005 8:28 am

this has been a very helpful forum. I note, however, the lack of an official song. May I Offer the following?

To the tune of "Blowin' in the Wind"

How many nights must one man snore
Before he you call him a doc?

How many times must you wake in the night
And see small numbers on your clock?

Yes 'n
How many times may you flop in your bed
Before your spouse gives you a sock?

The answer, my friends, is blowin' in your nose
The CPAP is blowin in my nose

I invite other verses.
I think it makes me look like a dashing scuba diver, don't you?

That is a funny song, except some of us never snored, and are not men. Though my husband does wake me up when I take my tube off in my sleep and it starts whistling or blowing air on him.

*snickering*

I'll have to go find the lyrics and give it a shot. I've always gotten a kick out of "Weird Al"-ing songs

And how many masks will a company swing
before they say buy your own?

How many times will the Doctor say no
before he finally gives in?

Yes'n how many times must Wader log in
before someone says no no no?

The answer my friend is pokin up your nose
the answer is pokin up your nose!

My apologies to Wader, it just ryhmed!

Cool song. Was back in "my day". lol Love those verses, SailorBoy and Happy Hoser. Okay, here's my contribution to the cause.

How many drips does it take on a nose
Before we awake with a start?

How many drops must condense in a hose
Before we take masks all apart?

Yes'n,
How many links to the sleepzone appear
Before we take heed and take heart?

The answer, my friend, is rainin' in the wind
The answer is rainin' in the wind.

How many times must you wake up each night
From the apnea and restless legs and feet

How many masks must you go through each night
Before you can finally fall asleep

And how late at night are you on cpap.com
Just waiting for sleep to finally come

The answer my friend is night after night
The answer is night after night

Songs Great so Far

Post by Howkoolguy » Tue Apr 26, 2005 1:15 pm

Song is great so far. I would predict a the top ten with a bullet, however, since it would only interest those of us with sleep problems who will have a hard time staying awake for the full song, I am afraid it may not be the hit its predecessor was. Nonetheless, more versus can only help. I will try my hand tonight and see what I can come up with.

Hoping someday my kids will call me "Howard the Rested" instead of "Howard the Grumpy"

A new song. But Thanks to Sailor for the idea!

Whoooo sleeps with a C PAP all through the night?

Spongebob Squarepants

Pull on the straps and cinch it up tight

Put your name here

It blows humid air right into your head

Wader has one

Now put the thing on and flop into bed!

We all have one
We all have one
We all have one
Some of us have two.

WOW! I've been included in the lyrics for two of the songs.

I guess it's too hard to find something to rhyme with "rested gal"

I was kind of thinking something along the lines of:

I can breathe clearly now, obstructions gone....
I can breathe all oxygen in my room

gone are the loud snores that had me down
it's gonna be a bright, bright cpap-y day....

(No, I didn't include Wader in my song. I hope I don't lose points for that.)

Liam, mildly irked not to have been included in a song.

Got my name in a song already - *preens*....

Theme song from the movie "Laura". Which just happens to have been released the same year I was released.

Speaking of rhyming...maybe that's why I took to the Aura so well?

Liam,

I did consider putting you into the song, as "Liam Johnson" meters pretty darn well with "Spongebob Squarepants".

However I feel my "poetry", as it is, is best used on the opposite sex.

You put your old mask on
You throw the new one out
You put your old mask on
And wish you'd had no doubt

You fling the ComfortCurve
and give a great big shout
Tell me when V2 comes out!

Tina

(who's still going to play with it this weekend, it just amused me to set that to music)
