I didn't read of any of our forum members who encountered the leaky humidifiers being notified by their local DME supplier of the Recall. If those leaky humidifiers were the cause of the above Recall that doesn't speak too well for the local DME suppliers, does it?

Where on the humidifier should we look for this serial number to make sure our humidifiers aren't affected? I got mine in may, so I'm guessing I don't need to worry, but it never hurts to check.

my unit is right dab in the middle of the serial numbers.

The model and serial number are located on the
bottom of the unit for the tank.

I feel so dumb! For some reason the first time i read this post I thought it said m-series.

This seems to affect tank only? Right?

I even went and wrote down my sn and model number to check it!

Oh fudge!!! I called my son-in-law and had him check. "Our" integrated humidifer's Serial Number is included in the Recall. But, duh! I didn't have him look for a Lot #!!! Sometimes if I had half a brain it would be lonesome. Other times it is.

So - I called him back. He swears there is NO LOT NUMBER anywhere on the humidifier. Good thing my son-in-law loves his mom-in-law!!! (At least I think he does - did).

The model and serial number are on the bottom of the platform for your humidifier.

My model and serial number are in this series. I don't understand the part about the lot numbers. My DME has not notified me.

OOPS, my serial number is 6, not 7 digits, so I guess my machine's ok. unless they have another recall, that is.

I don't either since I couldn't find one. Lot number, that is.

Ha! RestedGal. You're one up on me yet again. I missed that one. Altho in a later month there was a Nellcor PB recall re: one of their ventilators if I remember correctly.

Kind of an eye opener all the medical stuff being recalled, huh??

Respironics Humidifier Recall

Post by Windfall » Sun Jul 08, 2007 7:15 pm

The affected units were manufactured from December 2001 through April 2003. If your serial number has more than 6 digits after the H your unit is not involved in the recall.

I researched this earlier this year and found the information posted on another forum.
The serial number range affected is H045582 through H239662. If your serial number falls within this range, please contact Stericycle at 877-574-5038. Please keep in mind that if your serial number is more than six digits after the H it is not affected in anyway.
Thank you,

Ahhhhhh! Thank you so much, Windfall!!! I didn't count correctly. I'm sure by now my son-in-law is convinced I'm hitting the sauce today or fading into senility. "Our" unit is NOT part of the Recall.

SnoreDog ..... I was waiting for you to show up! I didn't think you'd let BookBear slide by w/that one.

IF it were the M series it wouldn't be a problem, the tank on it leaks so bad it would put out any fire before it ever started, sort of a built-in fire extinguisher.
Snoredog, guess I'm lucky. Mine doesn't leak. I keep my humidifier at max (5) and have to refill it every day, though. Just as well, that way i don't have to worry about stuff growing in there.
