Cleaning Nasal Aire II tubing

Post by Babette » Wed Jun 27, 2007 6:45 pm

The interesting thing with the Nasal Aire II tubes is that they discolor. Fast. Mine are already grungy looking. No idea why. Never seen this with any other mask. Other users report same phenomenon.

I'm contemplating cleaning. I keep thinking vinegar and baking soda. I'm not a chemist.

JEN!!!!! What should I do?

Probably "IGNORE DISCOLORATION," but wondering, all the same.

Yes, I've washed it with soap and water. Soaked it this weekend. Still funny color. You'd think a smoker had used these tubes...

BTW, no funny odor. Just funny color.

LOL,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

My suggestion would be to paint flowering vines on it to hide the discoloration.

The best "solution" to fix the discoloration --- is the one above.

Yuckie looking isn't it? You would think they would have solved that problem -- it's been going on for 4 years or more.

OH I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! My OCD is just getting the better of me. I keep thinking I need to DO SOMETHING about those tubes.

Jewelry? Costumes? Little silk covers?

LOL,
B.

What do DME's know, one told me to just wash my mask and hoses in the "original" Dawn dishwashing liquid and soak them for 45 minutes in a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.

I just want to go back to sleep!

I think you should slipcover them. With lace or a dainty gingham.

LACE! I had forgotten about LACE! Thank you Jen! Great idea!!!

Hmmmm... Now envisioning lacey seamed "stockings" for my tubes... Need to figure out how to make little high heel shoes to attach to them... Barbie heels?

LOL,
B.

Just figure out how to keep the seams straight, and you're halfway there.
The Force? Duct Tape is the Force. It has a light side & a dark side & holds the whole damn univers together!

Babbette, if you make slipcovers for the nasal-aire II, I would love to buy a set for my wife. And lace would nice. I'll take mine in leatherette. although I don't wear mine much these days, it would look good hanging up.You may want to charge a premium for that.

Good heavens, I didn't realize I was starting a business!

Maybe I should subcontract through PadaCheeks?

LOL,
B.

PS - You want chains and spikes on that leatherette? Or were you thinking Western theme?
