life coach who wants to work with sleep apnea people

Post by catbirdgirl » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:27 am

Hi there- I am a life coach, also a new sleep apnea diagnosed person (about 2 months).

I find myself going through a lot dealing with this diagnosis, the new equipment, waking up and realizing I have a lot to catch up on in my life, wanting to make changes, etc.

I've found my coach very helpful in prioritizing, support, enthusiasm boosting, having someone to be accountable to, etc.

I don't want to be a spammer, but this is the best place I know to get info out to people with sleep apnea....

Anyway, I have some openings in my practice, and if anyone is interested in having a life coach, my website is http://www.vitalflamecoaching.com and I give away a free initial session to anyone who wants one.

If this is NOT okay, to put it out there about my services, please advise how and where to do so?

Now this is a real idea.

Pay someone to do what RG and many others here do for free all the time.
Help others in need.
Can we just bill everyone who comes and asks for help?
Johnny is a very patient person to allow this to happen.

I have wonderful friends(on and off line) who do this for me for free, and they are available 24/7!

I think you miss the point. It's not just about apnea, its about the rest of life.

but if this isn't approprate to post, I'll delete it.

I'd like to think that all on this forum are "life coaches". Helping others is all the reimbursement we need.

Not sure advertising on this site is smart, or at best ethical, but I have to say that life coaching, done well, is a lot more than having a friend listen to you, or give advice... There again, I also believe in professional therapy (which can't even compare with having a friend listen to you...)

Just my personal opinion... and to give some balance to this trail of responses...

thanks xian.

I know this isn't the right place to advertise. What I wanted to do is tell people I was here, and FIND the right place to put it out there. I've gotten (and given) a lot of help here and I want to give service to this community as a coach as well.

If anyone has a good idea where to put it out there that I as a life coach am willing/interested in working with people with apnea, please feel free to suggest places to advertise or communicate this.

Coming here and posting, getting help and giving help, is GREAT! But we all try to do that, None of us are looking to get paid for it. If you are offering to help anyone here for free, that's wonderful! The rest of us do it all the time.
I did check out your website. I see nothing there that I don't already get from my friends for free. I'm not trying to attack you here, but I do have trouble with the fact that someone would pay you to be their friend.

In the bigger picture, I heard a sermon on the radio recently that stated some statistics for men in the US. My memory for statistics is not what it used to be, but there is a majority of men who admit (in polls) that they don't even have one close friend (immediate family members don't count).

would you all be still angry if I was a therapist or a psychiatrist or something offering support? or an MD? Coaching is not the same as being your friend, not at all.

We would all better spend our time helping others (or reading replies) than discussing the pros and cons of this letter - or our anger, or lack of it.

Catbirdgirl has given us her info in a polite way, let her have have the last word if she wants to, PM her about other places for advertising, let her have the last word on this thread, and the thread will go the way of all thread.

Lets not make an issue of this.

O.

Heck yes. When I've had a couple of bad nights on the hose in a row, I might be steamed if Santa Claus wanted to help. .

Bad days

Post by tomjax » Wed Jun 27, 2007 9:01 pm

We all have bad days on occasion.

I rear ended a car this morning...I tell you, it is going to be a REALLY bad day!;

The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF!!

He looked up at me and said "I am NOT Happy!"

So I said, "Well, which one ARE you then?"

That is when the fight started
