WELCOME!
Before you get your equipment you might want to click on the yellow light bulb at the top of the page and do some reading. You will learn about equipment options and lots of other info you may need!

Welcome, Ron!

I second Brenda's advice - read, read, and read some more. You want to go to your next appointment as knowledgeable as possible. You DON'T want to go home with a bare bones CPAP machine that does not record data. You will need to monitor your leak rate and AHI, so that you can get your therapy off to a good start.

Good luck! Post any and all of your questions, and let us know how you make out.

Cathy

Welcome! I'm new-ish too tho been here for a long time but don't get to post much as a lot of talk is about american equipment we don't have here in Scotland.

Anyway, any thing you need to know that your doctor can't tell you (a lot of such doctors around) can be answered by the hands-on experts here!

Welcome! I found this forum invaluable! I must love it to spend my day off watching movies and posting on the forum for hours! Today I'm mostly learning about masks so that when I go to the DME on Thursday I will have a better idea of what might work best for me.

See you on the forum....

Now the work begins

Post by Ron628 » Mon Jun 25, 2007 12:41 pm

I just spoke to the sleep lab about my results and it came back to be moderate sleep apnea - 27.6 "occurances" an hour. They said my pressure was to be 11 cm of pressure.

They are sending my preliminary results to the Dr. today.

Now on to the DME - I hope that they don't give me any grief, my insurance is great I am told by the sleep lab. My ins covered all the sleep study at 100%.

Thanks for all the encouragement. My wife has been doing lots of research for me. She is also a member here...Christy223.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
