RemStar Plus Replacement

Post by Sergey45 » Sat Jun 23, 2007 2:57 pm

I am currently with Rem Star Plus. You can see my machine’s report here
http://www.sleepapneasymptom.medgrip.com/cpap_mask.html
I like my Rem Star. It is extremely quiet. The problem is – it is not software compatible. Can anyone recommend similar machine (quietness is number one priority, size doesn’t really matter for me) but with software capability.
Thanks.
Sergey.

If you have the Classic Remstar Plus (not the M Series), then you should try to find the Remstar Auto or the Remstar Pro 2 (must have the 2), that way your current humidifier will work with the new machine. These Classic models are discontinued so you might have difficulty finding one at a DME's office.

If you have the M Series, then you should get the M Series Auto or the M Series Pro in order to use your current humidifier.

Even though they've been "discontinued", CPAP.COM still has a lot of them.

If you can afford to buy one out-of-pocket, you could keep the Plus for a backup machine.

Unfortunately, Sergey, quiet operation seems to rely more on the individual machine than on the model of machine.

I replaced this machine with a Remstar Pro-2....Love my new machine...I sent my Pro 2 back to Cpap.com for warranty work....I had a power failure and kept getting an error message on 12vdc.

I feel like I'm in purgatory because of having to use my spare machine...I would vote for the Tank over the M series.

Thanks for the tips. Remstar Pro-2 looks exactly like my machine. So I think it will be as quiet as my current one.

I have both machines. A Remstar Plus and a Pro2 "She who must be Obeyed"
Say that my Pro2 is far quieter than the Plus

Thanks.
I will probably get one. Do you know any reliable on- line vendor? I’ll check of course with APRIA, but my feelings is that on-line will be cheaper or the same considering my co-payment.

Our forum sponsor, cpap.com, is reliable. They have the machine still listed in their online inventory. Plus, they will match price of other internet provider if you find a cheaper price.

Can't go wrong with cpap.com (hey, that rhymes)

cpap.com is pretty well-regarded around these parts.

I wanted to get the current machine I have now from Apria, and they said that they would not sell me one or they would not replace my machine because it was not prescribed for me......Beware of Apria.

I have great insurance and they pay for everything.

I second that motion about cpap.com
