EncorePro Missing Two Nights Now

Post by WearyOne » Wed Jun 20, 2007 7:47 am

Every morning I download from the card and look at only the previous night's data. Yesterday morning and this morning I get the compliance data on the Summary page, but on the page with the AHI's and Leaks, it's blank and says, "No Daily Data Available."

I know EncorePro has a problem with missing data, but does anyone know about this situation? Should I get a new card? I don't erase the data from the card when I download. Could the card almost full or something with not enough space for the AHI and Leaks, and I need to erase when I download this morning to create more space? (Might be a silly questions; just grabbing at straws.) Is it a machine problem?

Thanks!

Pam

I'm not sure that it's EP that has the problem. It seems to be the 'M' machines with the problem. This has been reported many times. If you do a search for missing data you should get loads of info on it.

As has been said many times if you want 7 days data, the "Classic" Tank does that, the "M"agic takes time off, whenever it feels like it. Jim

My experience is this:
My card fills up after 7 days of data and then starts to "drop off" a day to add "todays" data.

I have found through trial and error that if I leave the card in the machine for 15 minutes after I shut down, I will have all my info.

If I remove the card within 5 minutes, it will drop the day but will get only compliance for last night (leaks, time in apnea, hours).

If I remove it immediately, I get the "No Daily Data Available."

YMMV, but if you think about it, there is some processing to do all that work and it does take time.

You know, I did take it out immediately upon getting up this morning; can't remember about yesterday morning. I do believe that previous to yesterday morning, it was at least 15 minutes before I got around to removing it, so, this may very well be it.

Thanks mhacker! I will do some experimenting along this line and see what happens.

It's possible the machine waits 15 minutes to make sure it's not going to be restarted then transfers the data to the smart card. Why... who knows? I would be willing to bet the machine's data isn't transfer on a continuous basis to the smart card. I have a bipap auto and can remove the card as soon as I turn off the machine and down the data... no problem.

I think when I turn my "Tank" off the motor stops. too. Jim

I'd hate to think it was trying to count on it's fingers, after I shut it off.

Yep, could be it. I know the machine stays "on" after we turn the "air" off because those "beautiful" blue lights are still on. So, I guess that even though we think of it as being off because the blower is off, there could still be stuff going on in there! It'll be interesting in the morning when I wait at least 15 minutes to see if that "corrects" the problem.

Wonder if the M series auto does the same thing.

Yeah, if I had two things to recommend on the pro M it would be a "dimmer" and another light to tell you when the data was finished downloading to the card.

Well, make that three. Take the darn c-flex button off the outside, I constantly press that by accident.

Well, it's either coincidence or the time theory is the answer because this morning I waited about an hour before pulling the card and when I uploaded the card data to the computer, last night's was there.

Thank you, mhacker!

Pam,

From all the stories I've read about this "phenomenon" (aka glitch), there are two "skips" and then it starts storing the statistics again. If yours has already skipped two nights of detailed data, then your experiment this morning may not prove anything. You'd have to do the same thing for more than a week or two to see if it actually worked.

Good luck,

Den

Den, I was going to check that out as well. (Thanks! ) I'm going do it like I did this morning for a while, then take it out as soon as I wake up for only one morning, then go back to waiting the next morning. This sounds silly, but I'd just like to figure out if it's the time thing or the glitch thing! Will also be interesting to see if in about three weeks (same timeframe as this last time), a "glitch" will show up again or not.

I started using the software on 5/31. The mornings of 6/19 and 6/20 were the first two days of missing the detailed date (compliance hours were there).

This will be an interesting experiment! I like figuring out why something is happening so I can figure a way to work around it, or deal with it. (Before I got the card reader and softeware, I figured out about unplugging the machine so the LED number would all be right!) It would be nice if it worked like it's supposed to, but life seems to be that way!

Pam

I look at my data once a week and pull the card out of the machine in the evening and have lost data on one occasion. When you say "shut down", I assume the machine is still plugged into the wall and not pumping air?
