Used Swift - $40 shipped

Post by blarg » Thu Jun 14, 2007 9:56 pm

Found one more mask I need to unload. I'll ship it anywhere in the US for $40 bucks. Includes Small, Medium, and Large pillows. From a non-smoking home. I didn't like it at all, so I used it for about 10 minutes.

PayPal would probably be the fastest/easiest way to deal with it all, but if you have something else in mind just let me know.

I also have a used Swift that I'd get rid of w/ all the goods for $40 shipped. Used 1 night. Now have a Hybrid.

Have Paypal

I might be intersted, but what is the deal with sleeping on your side? I see the tube comes out one side, how does that impact sleeping on that side?

Ah gee Jen, don't you wanna sleep on that hose? Wussy!

Me too - I think the Swift is a bad attempt at a NAII.

LOL,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

I think a hose hanging down the side sounds better than inserting inflating prongs in my nose and hoses wrapped around my ears!

Na-Na-Na-Boo-Boo!

You really like the nasalaire II. Why? Tell! I'm dying to try to understand the appeal!

Can you change which side the hose comes out of the swift?

Yes, but it's not something you're going to learn to do in your sleep.

@ socknitster

One persons review of the Swift:
I have a Swift, and I am able to sleep on either side, but it takes a bit of work.
Yes, you can put the hose on either side before putting the mask on, but it's not a "quick-change" in the middle of the night kind of thing.
After six weeks on the Swift, I find that I can sleep on my back, left side, right side, and on my stomach, but it requires a bit of pillow-folding to make it work.
Lately I'm waking up for every roll-over to arrange the pillow.
It's really not too much of problem, and I'm getting good sleep, but I look forward to trying a twilight NP in the future sometime.
I like the Swift. It works well, and I wake up most mornings thinking "I am comfortable, maybe I'll just lie here a while".
But it's my first mask, so I'll try others just to make sure.

Hey Jen, seriously, it's just what works for each person. The prongs work for me so much better than the other pillows masks I've tried.

But give the Swift a shot! I would never tell anyone that a particular
mask is a piece of junk, don't bother, unless I knew their entire mask history and heard their various likes and dislikes of each.

Though I personally cannot figure out how anyone can get a good night with the Optilife... But some swear they do. I spent 3 nights fiddling with it and was DONE.

If it helps any, I'm now sleeping on the tubes of my NAII and don't feel them at all. And they don't squish, either. I can't describe it. I guess they are sinking into the pillow or something. I was initially being really good and sleeping on the edge of the pillow, then one night woke up in my "old" spot and realized it was fine. I then just started going back to that, and haven't had any problems.

The Swift may be just the same.

LOL,
B.

You do know I'm just teasing, right? It is so hard for teasing to come across in letters.

I have the nasalaireII on my short list of ones to try because it is different and I want to try all the diff types before I settle on one.

I like the optilife. It all boils down to individual anatomy. I couldn't get any of the full face masks to work, so that is the lesser of 5 (count 'em 5) evils.

I'm actually taping my mouth shut now even though a week ago I thought it was the scariest thing I had ever heard of.

The tape has to come off if I accidentally roll on my side and fill up like a balloon. The gas has GOT to come out!

We can get used to anything, to have good sleep, can't we! I slept about 6 hours straight without one arousal last night!

Sam, I think I might have beat you to it. However, Blarg hasn't replied to me yet, so maybe he didn't get my pm.

And yet a 3rd original swift up for grabs. Same terms as Blarg's. Used 1 night (last night). I opened up the sealed package so it was brand new. Way too much mouth breathing for me so back I go to my UMFF. Comes with everything (bag, DVD, etc.), and needless to say, it will be cleaned!

In case anyone wants to check it out on CPAP.com, here's the link:
Original Swift

I wish it did work cause it's so much more comfortable than a FFM I can read in bed and not have to worry about falling asleep unhosed

As to the side sleeping comments, I'm also a side/stomach sleeper. It didn't really affect me except for waking up this morning with hose marks on my cheek. No worse than regualr mask marks.

To dream ... the impossible dream...
APAP since 4/12/07 still looking for the "perfect" mask. 1st ZERO AHI nite 6/7/07! 2nd 6/11
Using loaner Hybrid next 2 weeks. Fingers x'd
