I would agree wholeheartedly, Snoredog!
Perhaps the study should have been called "Effects of Auto CPAP set range on Cardiovascular blah blah" instead?

Hi Snoredog,
You are absolutely right that the manufacturers need to have close contact and phsycal forum and event for all the cpap/apap/bipap users for the benefits of the OSA sufferers. Until todate these is no official contact that much needed to be conducted to the osa users. This channel of via doctors and sleep techs is killing the direct feedbacks. Many times, the manufacturers just interested to the profit and nothing more than to sell their pap machines. This is very important to listen to the market and the real users. Or perhaps the manufacturers dont not want to take the real acountabilities instead lies to the doctors that have traditional and limited understanding of the hardware. Let the doctors do the blame games....the manufatures can wash their hands off with any acountabilities hence doctor practice conservatism.

The fallacies of those studies and the problems with doctors prescribing pressure ranges of 4 - 20 have been frequently discussed here, too.
It's extremely unfortunate that so many people think "automatic" means that the machine will AUTOMATICALLY adjust to the proper pressure needed to treat the patient.
Stick around and partake in the discussions.
