Pleading ignorance here.
What would be the reason for wanting to particularly use the Bravo tubing?

But they look the same (or extremely similar) to me.

New2, it wasn't me! The Teleflex sales rep told me that!

But I'll take the warm fuzzies anyway!!!

LOL,

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

I cannot imagine why you'd put the NAII cannula on the Bravo, unless you recently BOUGHT the Bravo, had an old NAII, and the NAII tubes had gone hard on you (they only have about a 1 year life span) and you didn't like the Bravo pillows, so you swapped them for your still good NAII cannula.

New2, is that your story?

Cheers,
Barbara

Babette, I used the NasalAire (original) for 3 years before I read about the Aura and switched.

True, there wasn't the inhale/exhale noise that nasal pillows have, but I noticed noise from the two small hoses that would normally go over the ears. I guess you have them routed up by the eyes.

I did hate the loud noise if a sheet gets near the exhaust holes -- which is one of the reasons that I love the Aura.

The nasal prongs never bothered me -- other than I felt like I had "Ubangi" nostrils. And it is true that those two little side hoses get stiffer and discolored after a few months. I hated that also. The prongs don't get discolored but those little hoses sure do.

You never explained about the Bravo hose. How and Why is it used? Do you have pictures?

Glad it's working so well for you. As I said, I used the NasalAire for 3 years -- it was my first and only mask before I found the Aura.

From my discussion with the rep, and trying both of them on, THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. The Bravo headgear is a different color. The nasal interface is differnt. But the nasal interfaces connect to the hoses in exactly the same way.

Cheers,
B.

I'll bet it's not the tubing so much as it is the headgear.

Neverbetter, I think you're right.

I looked again at the Bravo pic on cpap.com and that headgear is different from the NAII. There is a strap that goes down along the side of the face and hooks to the nasal interface. That would be a good stablizer for a pillows assembly, but not necessary (for me, at least) with the prongs cannula.

Cheers,
B.

Okay, I figured it out. Here's my pix of how I attached my NAII to my Tiara Topaz Chinstrap:

http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p36/ ... aise/CPAP/

Bear in mind the styrofoam wig head is smaller than my head, so it looks sorta bunchy.

I initially sewed velcro onto the chinstrap, then just pushed the loops of velcro around the tubes that had been pushed against the headgear against the loops on the chinstrap.

For some reason, that didn't work very well for me. The velcro held fine, but there was some sort of angular tension problem I couldn't quite figure out. So, one night I just wrapped the velcro loops all the way around the chinstrap side straps, and that worked better. The other night I added the second loops of velcro, to the lower end of the chinstrap side straps, and that has increased the angular tension, keeping it better in place for me.

I have the bolo slide attached to the tubes, but not attached to the chinstrap. I throw the tubes over my head, and slide the bolo up and down to wherever it feels best.

Hope this helps!!!
B.
