CSR Links to SA?

Post by Snorkel » Sun Jun 03, 2007 12:39 am

Ok. CSR = cemtral serous retinopathy. It has various degrees of severity, but can generally be thought of as a serous filled (blister) on the macula, which causes tje rounding of the mascula tio get out of alignment. I'me reaching ouit as CSR is assoc w/ incrased cortico-steroids in the blood, increeased blood pressure, insomnia and stress/-poor sleep habits..

I suffer from both and wonder if anyone was aware of any activel research into the relationshio[betwenn the two diseases?? drstcj looking for a link between the two diseases; could be cooncidentall but I tend to mnot place much belief in them . Any ideas?

Anyway hear of any papers li9nking the two?

thanks

David

David,

Gotta confess I am lost - can't make any cohesive sense of what you are asking

Can you put the request another way

DSM
xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)

Link between CSR and SA?

Post by kteague » Sun Jun 03, 2007 8:14 am

David,
Didn't have time to research, just read a couple articles, but I can see why you would wonder if there is a correlation. If stress hormones are known to exacerbate CSR, and sleep apnea is tremendous stressor, could there be a link...hmmm. Just may be this is one of the many ill effects of untreated sleep apnea. I see a logical link but maybe someone will find something scientific. My question is, if an eye doctor is treating a patient for CSR, is it routine to screen for sleep apnea? Interesting question, David.
