I want to buy a manometer!!

Post by ddpelp » Sun May 27, 2007 12:06 pm

I have read the home built units etc but would like to buy a manometer. My question is how good is this one?

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/guage- ... ssure.html

or do you really need that much $$ How about this low end one?

http://www.cpapusa.com/item.php?product ... sure+Meter

Or something in the middle??

The F& P i see cheaper on other sites but if I am right you need the Chamber which in the very cheap version does not come with the chamber

I am thinking the el cheap o one that is listed second above.. It can be found many places for 24 to 26 bucks

thanks for any opinions..

The cpap meter is not a monometer. At our DME we tested it, as it was cheap and portable, and found the accuracy was +- 3 cm pressure over a 4-20 cm range. NOT ACCEPTABLE. The F&P is accurate and the analog meters are generally quite good.

Why not just get a ruler and hold it to the bottm of the hose- preferably a metric ruler- then dip it into a container of water at least 6-8 inches deep-
turn on the machine and gradually raise it until air starts bubbling out.
look at the mark on the ruler and get your reading.

remember 2.54 cm= 1 inch
1 cm= .39 inches

cant get much easier than this.
works for moi.
