You guys are a Hoot!

What is clear these days is that getting rid of Gas, wether regular or premium, is good news for all the Gas companies, including Resprionics, Ho Hum!

Boy, I'd loved to have purchased Resprionics Shares six years ago, but unfortunately the Stock Market is mainly about 20/20 hindsight. Look at Google. lots of folks lost their shirts with the .com boom, but I guess the internet companies who survived and came out on top really did well.

Gordy.

I have seen the truth and it makes no sense!

If you wake up while it's still in your stomach and burp it out soon enough, then it's just the belching kind. Once the air moves past the stomach into the intestine there's only one way out...

When I wake up feeling bloated, I sit up, get the mask off my nose (pretty easy with the Optilife), and burp it out. Sitting up makes it must easier for me to burp. I haven't even attempted to burp with air blowing in my nose, but I doubt it would work out very well.

I'm not a doctor, my highest degree is a Master's.

I thought I was going crazy, but I did this search anyway and found that my CPAP is causing this early morning bloated gas! I have found relief by either chewing three Gaviscon Tablets or taking about three capfuls of the liquid Gaviscon. That is the only product that my family use for gas on the stomach due to its quick relief! The only problem is that I have to ride to work with the window down, but I do feel better by the time I get to work!

this is for all of you, i have a bipap and have always had excessive gas. if i lie on my side i then gulp in air and it forces its way out of my mouth causing me to wake up or have perpetual bloating in stomach. i am miserable. get so tired of sleeping just on my back. my settings are set for me and i can't use any other d/t the severity of my apnea. good luck, my point is that sometimes you have to put up with it or suffer the consequences of not using the machine.

If Gaviscon helps and/or you need the windows down, then your problem isn't ENTIRELY aerophagia.

Aerophagia is literally "swallowed air". Not digestive gas. Thus an anti-acid will not affect it at all. And the good news is, when you expel swallowed air (from either end) there's no strong "aroma", as there is with digestive gas.

It is possible to have both, of course. But each requires different steps to reduce or eliminate the symptoms.

LinkC,

It depends on what the air has to go past on it's way out.

The aroma won't be as "strong"...as I said. Tho it may pick up some.

But if it has to go past much, you may get "Scottish Wedding Syndrome" along with the gas:
