Arua Return?
I wish I could say that the Aura, which has recently arrived, is the answer to my prayers --it's not. Can't get a good seal, can't keep a good seal, wake up a few times per night with lots of rain in the nasal pillow even though I have turned down the humidifier and have an insulated hose.
So, having said all this, I'd love to return it (cpap.com) or sell it. Any takers for purchase, please send me a private message. I realize that there was some discussion about returning these to one store that has a policy allowing return of Aura -have any of you returned it to Cpap.com?
Thanks!

I am having the exact same problems as you, Will. I am really upset about it. I think AEIOmed should step in and help and back up their product. I do not understand why we should be expected to add straps here and there and then it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? I had nothing but leaks causing numerous awakenings with rainout during the night in spite of insulated hose. Even added insulation on the Aura hose. I tried both sizes. Argh.

Have you both tried bending embeded wires to get the orientation of the pillows correct for your nose. I am able to get a good seal with either size pillows. I do get occasional rain-out, but I like the humidity real high and my bedroom real cold.

Wader, I have tried bending the wires, but wish you were here to coach. We, too, like the bedroom/stateroom cold with windows/ports open and humidity heater is on 3. With insulated hose, I don't get that rainout with Swift nasal pillows or with Activa mask. I absolutely love the design of the Aura with no parts really touching the face. But I have thrown it aside in frustration. Lying on my back,no leaks. As soon as I turn my head, it's leaks all over. It just pivots away. Leaving on a trip (with my Swift) so will try it again when I get back. More wire bending. Have you added straps? With straps, though, you now have something more like the Swift, with straps crossing sides of your face. Grrr. Has the mfr jumped in with any support comments here?

One other thing to try is to adjust the headgear so that the lock box sits as far back on your head as comfortable. I do think the adjustment range on the slides could be designed for a smaller head. My head is on the large side of average and I set the slides to almost the smallest setting. I think for users with a smaller than average head it might be difficult to downsize it far enough to fit.

Thanks for any add'l input, Wader. I would assume having the headgear as high as possible would tend to hold the pillows against the nostrils more securely? My head is at least a medium. My cowboy hat is a 7 1/4 or 7 3/8? I'm told I have a fairly small face. Not overweight. And I now remember that the extreme rainout made the nasal pillows slippery so then there was no way they would stay in place, Leak leak leak. Yuk. Hey, maybe i'll try putting the headgear over the cowboy hat...yippeeyiyo outfit for bed tonight. Er, maybe not.

I can see where rainout might be an issue for some, the best solution is the Aussie heated hose and a fleece cover for the thinner hose.
As for extra strap, what I did was connect to the part just below the "lockbox" and that stabilizes it without touching my face.
As Wader said, you have to have the back of the headgear very low and the lockbox just above your hairline.
And you HAVE to adjust the pillow, the bendable wire is in there to help you shape it to your nose, if you don't it will leak.

Re: Arua Return?
I didn't like the cap--clamped on your skull feeling of the Aura either. I'd like to return both my breeze, and aura, not for me. For others, gret. I'm sticking with my swift.
Let me know how you make out with either return/selling? I'd sell mine, PM, me, as well. Never worn for use, just tried on and wore for a few mins and said, ''this too is not for me.".

Bend the wires
I found that bending the wires caused the silicone tube (in which the wire is embedded) to collapse somewhat. This can't be good for airflow.Have you both tried bending embeded wires to get the orientation of the pillows correct for your nose.
I was afraid of that, too, Will. I did try the Aura again last night. I spread the tubes/wires more apart, which decreased the dimension from top to bottom, thus pushing the nose pillows a little more securely against nostrils. As a quick attempt at a fix, I also wrapped a terry washcloth over the top of the headgear to try to insulate the tubing up there (ran out of fleece that I used for cpap hose). This was rather attractive. Towel on the head kind of a look. I think I had a little less leakage and a little less rainout, but the leakage still woke me up several times during the night. Had to wipe out the rainout on my face as the nose pillows wouldn't stay in place all wet. Blaaagh! Didn't wake up rested, that's for sure.
The Swift or the Activa are going on the trip with me. Probably the Swift as it is so compact. They both are great. Too bad the Remstar Pro2 cpap machine isn't compact. Maybe someday. Remember how big computers used to be!

Rainout
I think that they have placed the co2 washout vent too far from the nares and, the hose between the pillows and the main hose from your flow generator is too long.
Even with the humidity turned down and a really good insulating sleeve around the hose, I still get lots of rainout. When I roll from one side to the other, all of the rain that has collected in the tubing going up either side of my nose flows INTO my nose. Not great at all. The long tube between the pillows and the main hose allows for significant temperature differential (condesation) and the washout vent being too far from where you are actually exhaling (the nares) allows for rain buildup.
I had really wanted this interface to be great; I think it is a bust.
