Swift II came today

Post by svh » Wed May 02, 2007 2:04 pm

...and is, I think, significantly quieter. Yay! The headgear seems identical. We've all seen the comparison photos, and know what it looks like. I'd say they really did improve the sound problem. We'll see how the night goes....

I may have to check that out. My wife says I sound like Darth Vader with the Swift 1, it is very loud. Are there any other advantages?

Sarah
I envy you Have a good night sleep today
Those who have the most masks win!

From my experience, at certain position, Swift can be very quiet

My problem is I am shifting every second, my leaks graph look like NYSE stock chart. I have always pretty bad leak with Hybrid and Swift

best with Ultra and Activa

I don't think there;s anything else obviously better. They changed how it exhausts to make it quieter, but it still goes in the same direction, and the hose attaches the same way--one side or the other. The swift has worked pretty well for me, so I'm just happy it's the same but quieter!

Good luck with your new Swift II Sarah. We sleep with a pillow between us to eliminate the exhaust problem.

cpapernewbe, it's hit and miss with the swift.
Some are quieter that others. I was reading people in new zeland posting about the swift II and they said there was not enough difference in noise to buy a new model.
If you got one that is quiet, that's wonderful, Sarah, and good luck with your new mask!

Question: What did they change in the Swift from I to II? I have a Swift, but not sure if I or II. I just got it from the dme, but the bag that comes with it just says Swift w/o any reference to I or II.

thanks

David

There is a comparison of the I and II on the ResMed site. If your case does not say Swift II on the outside, you have a Swift I. ResMed Customer Service told me that the Swift II US product launch was three weeks ago and all the DMEs know about it and can order it. Of course, that doesn't mean they won't pretend they don't know about it until they have cleared out thier inventories! I plan to order a Swift II when I am due for a new mask later this week. My DME will try to give me the runaround, but I know how to call them on it.

Hi David,

The Swift II has smaller and more numerous exhaust holes to try & make it quieter and the exhaust less obtrusive. This is the Swift II.

Got my Swift II yesterday...

Post by RichCMH » Tue May 08, 2007 4:19 pm

Confessions of a mask junkie....

I have to say I like the Swift II. Same comfort as my beloved OptiLife, maybe a bit more with no chin strap. However, I did have a major blow out when I rolled over onto the hose connected side and the mask shifted. pfftsshhhhh!!! Getting it resealed was a bit more difficult than the Opti as the silicone is thinner. I almost had to turn off the cpap.

It seems quieter than the Opti. I don't have a Swift I to compare with either.

I got the Swift II on eBay for a very low price as discussed in another thread. I am not related to the seller, just to make that clear!!

-Cheers!
