Remstar M Series - Display data missing?

Post by sleepy_timo » Wed Apr 04, 2007 1:44 am

Hiya, I have this brand new M Series Pro (CPAP only) and i have noticed quite an annoying problem with it. I am currently resetting the weekly data daily so i can see how i slept the previous night as my card reader and Encore pro software hasnt been delivered yet. Otherwise i will get the 7 day average.

The problem - some nights it displays the data, other nights it just reads '0' on all the screens e.g. AHI, >4 hours of use sessions etc.

I have read on here about M series and data loss but that seems to be from people downloading from smart card and they seem to blame the Encore Pro software versions. I am wondering whether there is a problem with the hardware (inc internal firmware/software itself?)

Does anyone else have this problem?

Also does anyone have the Encore 1.8i new features/fixs list

Thanks

I do not have the 1.8 version of Encore Pro yet. I have 1.6 and yes the info on the screen is as unreliable as the info in the program. You can pretty much forget using it for any reliable information. I could see that before I even had data missing in the reports.

Ive noticed with my M series that it doesnt compile session data until 4-6 hours after the session has finished. (I guess thats how it determines the session is over).

If i check it before i go to bed, the LCD will actually display the session data from the night before.

If i check it before i go to work, the nights data isnt available yet.

I agree it has to do with end of session timing. When I get up if before about 6 AM all info has not changed then I check it later in the morning and all data is there.

You are describing two issues.

1. When a session is over to see data. If I remember correctly it is some time during the day, I think around lunch time.

2. Sometimes nightly data is totally not recorded. I would see a sessions not done. It would say how many sessions in 30 days. It would show less then 30. When all the nights the machine was used. etc.
I can do this, I will do this.

sleepy_timo, the LCD data clears at noon on any given day. If you have not checked it by then, it will not be there.

Plugged or unplugged?

Post by WearyOne » Mon Apr 09, 2007 10:18 am

Do you unplug your machine or do you leave it plugged in all the time? If you leave it plugged in, you might want to unplug it every day. (I don't have software yet, so this just concerns the data on the LED screen.)

When I first got the machine (same as yours) it worked fine. (Just started CPAP about six weeks ago.) I could clear data fromt he LED screen and the new numbers made sense. I began having problems with the display data about a week ago. I, like you, like to reset it. I couldn't figure out what was going on. I knew something was wrong because the leak data was obvisouly incorrect. I know what the vent rate for my Hybrid is and it was reading much lower than that on the 7-day average or overnight.

Saturday, I unplugged it for some reason and when I plugged it back in, low and behold the numbers changed and now made sense. I did this again on Sunday. I suddenly realized that when I first got the machine, I unplugged it all the time, but had recently stopped unplugging it every day.

It doesn't make sense to me that unplugging it could make the data change on the screen, but it did. (I never noticed whether or not it made a difference in the beginning.) And that goes along with my not having data issues in the beginning when I unplugged it every day. If anyone knows why this would make a difference, I'd love to know!

Pam
