Mask Spare parts?

Curious.. since the mask becomes a very imporant part of the cpap system is there any "recomended" parts to have onhand for repair of the mask? I own a Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask. and got to thinking maybe should have a few parts most likely to fail at the house for quick repair..

I don't keep spare parts around as they are too expensive. I do keep 3 or 4 workable masks around and change off regularly. That way if one breaks I have something else to fall back on. Your mileage may vary. jim

Interesting are all the same mask or different types???

I have 2 Oracles that are my main guys and I have 2 431s in a drawer as backups-haven't used them since July but still need the backup security.

I have found plumbers teflon tape to help with middle of the night leaks.

I have two Auras, and a full face mask for when (or if) I get a cold.

But, call me obsessive, I also have two Remstar Autos, and two heated hoses. ...

Make up a bedside kit and you won't have to hunt for the itms in the middle of the night (thus staying away longer)-the above mentioned teflon tape, electricians tape, rubber bands, moleskin/bandaids to cover pressure areas, medical type adhesive tape, whatever you use for dry nostrils.....in short.....the items you usually find handy for quick fixes.

Extra mask clips are always nice to have handy for those times one goes flying in the middle of the night, if you need to make a major mask adjustment or something...somehow that velcro comes undone and next thing you know, tab A no longer fits into slot B.

I'm not sure how they do it, but does anyone else notice how much farther they go proportional to a) how dark it is, b) how tired you are, and c) how much you really need a good nights sleep that night? And Respironics old clear ones were a joke to find in the best conditions.

Some masks come with extra clips, like the ComfortCurve, but those always seem to be the ones least likely to have disappearing clip issues to begin with- go figure.

If you're fairly new to xPAP, you may be able to ask your DME for an extra clip or two. With the UMFF, I also like having an extra disconnect ring thingy that holds the mask to the hose.
