Another OPUS thread....

Post by RichCMH » Mon Mar 26, 2007 11:28 am

So, this weekend I was trying a sample OptiLife Pad-A-Cheek pads on the Opus and making some adjustments with the pads on. For me the pads did not work too well, but I don't really have problems with any strap being too irritating. I will be sending Karen, some details so she can make adjustments.

Anyway to make a long story longer... The Opus still leaks for me no matter what strap and velcro adjustments are made. Then I got crazy... I put the headgear on backwards, the top/front part I pulled on first and to the back of my head and the back strap on top of my head! Viola - leaks are gone!

However, I really need a pillow size between the large and the medium, since the m ones eventually pop into my nostrils!

-Cheers

I use some very light twist ties to pull the nasal pillows together to form a better seal. I shape them to contour the pillow, then twist slowly to pull the pillows together to make a good seal.

Works well up to a pressure of about 13 cm for me, then it starts leaking and I cannot seem to make it stop.

I'm going to try that backwards thing!

It's not a matter that the pillows are too close or far apart, it's the weird asymmetry of the pillow that makes them leak for me.

It leaks for me at 13 also and at around 9-10 I get a very faint whistle from the exhaust.

It's really comfy, it just needs some refinements.
