CPap.com does not seems to be fair... :o\

Post by Jeepster » Fri Mar 16, 2007 1:40 pm

I order a Hose snuggle from CPap.com, I am from Canada so they reply me that the shipping will be 17$ and the Hose Snuggle will be 15$...

I accept the order... But when I received the package it was indicated 2.50$ of shipping on it!!!!!

I write an EMail to CPap.com and they reply me that shipping cost is not negotiable!!!

I can accept that they do a little profit on Shipping but here it not profit... it extortion...

What do you think?

The actual cost of postage is only part of the shipping expense. Because there is a border, there is also custom form and the cost of time for someone to complete the paperwork. I can't speak to "fairness" but you are only seeing just part of the whole picture.

costs

This is probably a topic that should be discussed with customer service at cpap.com.

Wonder if shipping included Postage + package+ labor involved+ trip to postoffice or supplies+ cost of machine + all other things or should it all be included?
But if it would help, I will be glad to pay the postage for you.

Tell them to charge my account to help you.

As an X ebay seller, I can tell you that the cost of shipping to another country is hardly worth the trouble. Feel lucky they sent it to you.

Companies often make money on shipping and handling. However, if they told you in advance what the "shipping" cost would be, I don't see how it's unfair. Overpriced? Maybe. Unfair? No.

Heck, next time go to the fabric store and buy a piece of something you like. Wrap it around the hose and slip rubber bands over it. This is what I will try the next time.

The fleece fabric retails for 4.00-6.00 per yard, it is 60 inches wide so Two yards will yeild 10 hosecovers cut 6X72 inches. sewing time? less than five minutes! or save a little for strap covers, they only have about ten cents worth of fabric in them.

I agree about the hassle of shipping something out of the country. Lots of paperwork.

And, if you agreed to the shipping, why complain now? Especially on the forum.

Could be worse, Linda. He could start another 'pool'.

Personally, I happen to think it's a fair topic for discussion.

After all, we give CPAP.com a lot of really good advertising. (At least I know that I do.) It doesn't strike me as one bit out of line to criticize one of their policies every now and again.

As for their shipping policy, I personally love their overnight shipping policy. Even though it's expensive, I've paid for it every time I've ordered from CPAP.com. However, I also recall thinking that their regular delivery price was awfully high on small items. Now, that's not a complaint, just a comment.

I'm not bashing CPAP.com at all, and I have absolutely no idea whether it would make business for them to consider changing it. It is a fair topic for discussion though.

Regards,
Bill

I just received an order from CPAP.com that I ordered just day before yesterday and I was thrilled with the speedy delivery. I got it that quick with the regular shipping so I can't complain.
I guess the main thing is that if you knew the total would be a certain amount and it was then you have to accept it.

i can understand your frustration, knowing that it cost them so much less to ship it than what you paid...i think that's the part that is euphemistically referred to as 'handling'...i checked it out, too, and decided instead to go with http://www.comfortsleeve.com ...i ordered a hose cover from kathleen and she only charged me $2.50 u.s. to ship it, with exchange the whole thing came to about $22 cdn.
can you return it?

He probably wouldn't get the cost of the shipping back and would have to pay again to ship it back. But, I will keep your idea in mind. I can't decide whether I need a cover yet. I ordered a mask part last month....cpap.com shipped it Feb. 24th and I don't have it yet but they did tell me about the shipping cost and it was still worth it.....if I ever receive it.

I've always ordered more than $100.00 worth (MUCH more) to get free shipping.
If you don't understand all of the costs and terms before you agree to the sale, it's YOUR fault.

I have ordered all my cpap. equipment from cpap.com. Since we have NO insurance to cover cpap, we did a price check before we purchased equipment. I recently needed a new mask and decided to try a local medical supply - the cost was $175 for the mask - I paid about $45 at cpap.com. Who care what the shipping is when I can save over $100!
