WooHoo!! Got Encore & My Reader Working on Windows Vista

Post by Rabid1 » Thu Jan 11, 2007 5:31 pm

I've been operating in the dark (no pun) for the past 2 weeks while I waited for my card reader to arrive from Hong Kong.

It got here today, and I was able to get Encore Pro v1.7.128 up and running and successfully downloaded my data.

Normally, this isn't newsworthy, except I'm running Windows Vista. It takes a bit of tweaking to get the install to work.

MY AHI (self-titrated) for the 2 week period averaged 4.8. That's not that great, but I had been running my APAP at a pretty wide range of 7-15cm.

My 90% pressure is 12cm, so now I can narrow it to 10-14cm.

If anyone needs help getting their Encore installed on Vista, let me know, and I'll post the procedure.

Rick

I'm not running Vista at the moment, but I would love to be able to get it working on Windows Server 2003 R2.

I have the same version as you, and it's a supported platform for Encore Pro.

My issue is with the reader, I can't seem to find a version of the driver that will work on 2003.

So I have MSDE installed on 2003 server with Encore Pro running on XP pointing to the server for the DB.

So if you have the reader working with Vista, that might be good news for me. Please let me know how you did it!

I'm pretty sure I didn't install SQL server, only the MSDE that Encore Pro installed. v1.7 lists server 2003 as a supported operating system.

I did however install SQL Enterprise Manager afterwards so I can setup an automatic backup of the DB.

The only thing that doesn't work is the card reader. It only comes with drivers for xp, and 2000. As far as I can tell there are no 2003 drivers.

Vista and Encore Pro

Post by dkeat » Sat Mar 10, 2007 9:05 am

Hi Rick

I am wondering if you or anyone else around would know how or where to check for a VISTA update for Encore Pro at the Respironics website? I was just there and boy, is it ever tough to find information. The only Encore related product I could find ANYTHING about was the smart card. I am currently using Version 1-4i Rev. 4. I assume there must be later versions around. Possibly even for VISTA.

Thanks,

Dave

How do you install Encore Pro with Vista?

Post by Chappy13 » Sat Mar 24, 2007 12:35 pm

Rabid1, can you please post the procedure for installing Encore Pro on Windows Vista? I had to get a new computer (my old one crashed) and now "I'm in the dark".

Thanks very much for your help!

Encore Pro and Vista

Post by Chappy 13 » Sat Mar 24, 2007 1:26 pm

I did a little searching and found Rabid1's solution for the Encore Pro install on Windows Vista, but it didn't work for me. I have Encore Pro v1.6i. I am afraid that the reason it didn't work is that I need v1.7, since I've found out that that exists. Does anybody know how I can get v1.7 and if it will work with Rabid1's installation workaround? I would rather not have to pay an arm and a leg for the program, by the way.

Or, does anybody know how to install v1.6 on Windows Vista?

Thanks a bunch, people
