Anyone use papillows?
Can someone tell me if the papillows worth the $$$ they are asking? Which one is better between the two models? Please provide info to a newbie.
I use Shapeable Pillows from Target.
They're just like a normal pillow but when you bunch them up they generally hold the shape. They're perfect for creating mask divots and I love them. Cheap too. Oh, and they're even on sale at the moment!

I've been using the papillow for a few months now. I love it. It's the best pillow I've ever had. I have found it to be just the right thickness, firmness, shape, and size for me. It is shaped to allow the mask to sort of hang over the edge of the pillow. I did try the shapable pillow but it was way too soft for me, however it was also money well spent because my husband loves it!

I tried a papillow for awhile, but it was too hard for me and too difficult to keep the ff mask off the pillow. Because it was hard (too firm), it hurt my ears.
I've also tried the foam pillow, but found I am allergic to the foam material used. I could use it covered with 8 or 10 pillow cases, but that was too much of a hassle.
I've been using the Shapeable Pillow from Target for several months now and love it. It is soft enough that the ff mask sinks down into the pillow and doesn't loose its suction or move around on my face. It is also soft enough that it doesn't hurt my ears.
I find I have to sleep on a pillow before I know if works for me. If you want to test the Shapeable Pillow, it is really cheap at Target.

Alisha

Are they available in-store, or only online?blarg wrote:I use Shapeable Pillows from Target.

Wake me up when this is over...
I had the larger papillow and didn't care for it--it was too hard, and too big, and I could not hang my mask over the side because of the fact that it was too big for me--I wouldn't recommend spending the money on it. Went back and got the smaller papillow, and it is definitely more comfortable, but still not worth the money spent on it. My most favorite set up is a memory foam pillow--the one shaped like a regular pillow, and a "cushie" neck roll pillow on top of that. the "cushie" is filled with micro beads, and it fits my neck perfect, and I can sleep with my mask system so that it hangs over the side of the pillow. Very comfortable for me. Others on here however love the papillow, so it all depends on personal taste.
I got the large papillow for Christmas. I love the height and firmness, but the "arms" were too long for me. Because of the way I sleep combined with a rather short neck, these "arms" were ending up on top of my outstretched arm right at the shoulder and sort of pushing into my mouth area. So, I lab-ratted them by first pushing the filling up into the main body of the pillow and then I carefully cut off about three inches of the arm material and then sewed it back up. Fixed the pillow case, too, to fit my new dimensions. Now it is perfect. The result is probably a little bit wider than the manufactured small version, but it still has the height and firmness I like.

I got mine in store. They're the exact same price in store as they are online and you can pick them up and squish them if you want.Rabid1 wrote:Are they available in-store, or only online?
Make sure to take it out of the plastic bag to see how it really reacts before you assume it's really really shapeable because of the vacuum.

One of the reviews on the Target site said the pillow flattened out. Do you have to fluff it every day and does it really hold whatever shape you compress it into?
I have a hard time finding a really sooooooooooft pillow. Even a soft pillow will make the outter edge of my ears hurt.

Linda, have you tried a 100% Goose down pillow?Linda3032 wrote:I have a hard time finding a really sooooooooooft pillow. Even a soft pillow will make the outter edge of my ears hurt.
They even come in different densities, "I think".
I've always had one, and I "don't leave home without it".
Tuesday Morning's sales are a good place to get them at a good price.
I look at it as a good investment, as a good cpap mask.
...and am I every HAPPY that it's not made from duck down. .

I've been using the double-edge PAPillow for the past year and a half. I like it very much.

Yeah, mine have flattened out since I got them. They're still very soft though.Linda3032 wrote:One of the reviews on the Target site said the pillow flattened out.
I don't. And yes. I didn't understand exactly what people were talking about with shapeable until I bought one. Just go to your local Target and play with them. They'll flatten but stay soft.Linda3032 wrote:Do you have to fluff it every day and does it really hold whatever shape you compress it into?
Not sure exactly how effective it'd be for you, but they're plenty soft to me.Linda3032 wrote:I have a hard time finding a really sooooooooooft pillow. Even a soft pillow will make the outter edge of my ears hurt.
