What will YOU do on March 8th ???
What will YOU do on March 8th ???
Tell us what you will do on Sleep Apnea Awareness day!
March 8 is my birthday, too! I plan on wearing my sweatshirt with the famous Mike Moran words "The Proud, The Few, The Inflated."
When ever I wear it I get a lot of questions as to what it means.
Check out this post to see how it helped. Anything to help inform people EVERYDAY is a good thing.

I'm with Lori.
I plan on sending everyone I know an email with an update on my health and recovery the last three months, as well as links to various Apnea websites. I want everyone to be aware, get tested and to pass the message along.
March 8th will be my three month anniversary!

EDITED - even when you run spell check, it won't tell you what it thinks you intended to type!

Bonnie,
My birthday is also March 8th so I will be celebrating!
I was also interviewed by a nurse who writes a health column in the local paper. I had contacted her awhile back about Sleep Apnea Day and she agreed to focus her column that week on SA. So when it gets printed, I will post it!
Bethlori...don't be embarrassed..we don't have a "social" disease after all!

Now now, it was just a suggestion. No need to get testy.Anonymous wrote:????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????I want everyone to be aware, get testes and to pass the message along.
But, I'm a GIRL, I don't want any "testes"!!!!
Liam, who plans to spend the night of March 8th trying (and failing) to get to sleep. Pretty much like always.

well everyone at work already knows about my sleep apnea.... After I went upstairs one day to get my new swift, I proudly wore it around for a couple hours to show it off... Of course they all made fun of me but they were also intrigued and full of questions at the same time.
Wear your mask to work day!! LOL That'll get the point across!

What point would you be trying to get across by doing so. I just see doing that kind of thing as advertising that I'm different and not only do I deserve, but I insist on, special treatment from my employer because I don;t want to do my share of the work.

Wow..OsaGuy..no offense but that seems a little harsh! I think Lyza was just having some fun and I didn't read at all into it that she was trying to get out of her share of work. Everyone will deal with their OSA in a different way and I applaud Lyza for not being embarrassed or ashamed of something that we can't help and also for trusting her coworkers enough for sharing that information.

That is a very unfair statement. I know a handful of people in my building with OSA. They are all dedicated, hardworking professionals. They certainly don't hide their OSA and they certainly don't use it to shirk work. There are plenty of well rested malingerers here. Maybe if they had OSA and a mask, their work performance would come up to the level of ours.
You sound bitter about something that's not Lyza's problem.
