My dad got his new Remstar Tank Auto.
Now the problem is the new hose that came with it was very smelly, from all the rubber and stuff; I just wonder how to remove it? Is vinegar enough?
Thanks!

OK, this is those for my dad not me.
hose smell
I couldn't stand that smell. It gave me headaches. I soaked the hose in a deep pan of very warm water with Ivory liquid, making sure that the water went inside the hose. I changed the water and soap every hour or so and rinsed well each time. I did that for several days and the smell finally disappeared. At least I don't notice it now.

Typically, the Plastisols in all plastic materials are offensive. While they are most offense just after being transformed from their raw state into a finished product, they will also be highly offensive when stored in a sealed container, for any length of time. (such as the one the mask or hose is sealed inside upon delivery) This "aroma" of the Plastisols will dissipate in time, but can facilitated by various methods..............i.e. absorbtion, cleansing, deodorizing..................................or you can just leave them exposed to the open air and the odor will dissipate on its own in a short while. Just something that has to be a part of of being a plastic product.

Re: Rubber Smell from new hose
Hi, please help, I have a odor coming from the bath, I put hand soap in the hose and mask, run hot water till clear then rinse with cold water. Then hang over towel rack until bed time. Is something else better for cleaning. When I smell each part of the CPAP it smells fresh?
Thanks for any advise
